Drainage and erosion resulted in the need for extensive deveopment of retaining walls. Fantastic work in stabilizing the area and now making it both functional and beautiful. The guys were able to take my vision and make it even better. Attention to every detail.

Working with Justin and Amanda has been wonderful! Their communication rises above all other contractors I have tried to work with. They listened to my needs and obstacles that I have moving forward on my deck tear down and rebuild. Justin immediately observed structural issues I needed to rectify. He was honest and forth coming with the amount of work and the time line needed for such a large project. Justin's proposal bid was very fair and in line with research I have done. Other contractors have been rude, or no shows, or condescending (I have structural and design experience) in their approach talking with this senior, disabled, single woman. ( which I know many single woman can relate to ) I appreciate Dupont Constructions honesty and respect and reliability. These are qualities that are hard to come by in this day and age. Chris and his team were awesome! To start, his quote was half of what I could find anywhere else. But, that did not translate to any lack of quality craftsmanship. I found out about his team from a recommendation of a neighbor, which was lucky since he doesn't advertise much at all. The entire project was over 400 feet, had lots of gradient changes and turns to deal with, and they had it done in 3 days... don't look anywhere else

The team at L&R were amazing!! They completely transformed my backyard, and my family loves it. From start to finish, the work was beyond expectations. Honestly worth every dollar, and we will be hiring the team again for our front yard.

Everyone from sales to install was extremely nice and helpful. Price was good, install was fast, quality seems great. Install crews (drivers and panel install crew) were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and I’m picky.

We had a fairly small project of finishing off the fencing in our yard, about 25 feet of fence. Northland was able to give a better quote and a much better timeline for my project (2 months sooner than other companies). The work was timely and well done. The office was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely use again when we're ready to replace the rest of our fence

Last year Northland Fence installed a tan vinyl privacy fence for my 1 acre lot, replacing a rotted cedar fence that was falling down. I was really impressed by the post design as a means to anchor the fencing without future rotting issues, and it saved lots of installation time versus the older cement process. This was a huge fence, and they completed in two days of work, and the fence looks great! Fast forward one year later and strong winds this year have knocked over 6 x 30-foot trees from my neighbor's yard into my yard, damaging the fence in multiple places, bending posts and breaking side panels. Tim came by to perform the repair last week and the fence is completely restored to previous condition in about 2-3 hours of work. You could not tell that so much damage had occurred except for some cleaning that I need to do. While onsite, Tim also addressed some sag in installed fence doors with very well-built diagonal braces and adjusted the doors to being square. He was polite, professional, and delivered great results - represents the Northland Fence brand well. Strongly endorse the fence solutions from Northland. They build beautiful, well-constructed fences that enhance the look of your property, and provide great support for their installed solutions. If you're looking for a good fencing contractor, these folks will do it right for you

It's not often that I write reviews but I was very impressed with Rob and his work. He was able to complete the project within the time promised and saved me some money in the process. I, Boyd, would definitely hire again.

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
