"Beyond excellent movers! Arrived on time, placed down carpet runners and main door cover to protect everything! This was a team of 4 young clean cut 20 something physically fit men with personality plus and very kind & respectful of our home and both of my husband and me … we are both 80! They were the best young men, hard working and very reasonably priced. We moved from a 4000 sft home to a villa condo across Minnetonka. Everything was so perfect that we hired them again 6 weeks later to move our remaining large pieces to our garage to prepare our home for sale. They agreed even though is was only 2 hours of work but again it was perfection you rarely find today. They are young & hungry and already know how to run a business! Don’t hesitate to use them. You will thank me and yourself & Josh & Jordan Dahlberg afterwards! The Best out there! Susan & Tom Germani"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Before hiring a moving company to help you with your move, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Is there anything your company won’t move?

  • Does workers’ compensation cover the crew?

  • Will you disassemble and reassemble the furniture?

  • Are there packing restrictions?

  • Can you guarantee my delivery date?

  • Can you provide references?

  • What do you charge extra for?

  • What is your cancellation policy?

It’s typically not advisable to move heavy furniture by yourself. However, if you are confident that you can do it safely, there are several different tools you can use, including a hand truck, a four-wheel dolly, or an appliance dolly. If you’re moving furniture upstairs or downstairs, a hand truck is the most suitable choice. Regardless of what you choose to use, always ensure that the furniture is well-balanced and secure by using lifting straps or tie-down straps to keep it in place.

Some companies offer supplies like dollies and furniture pads for an additional fee. Confirm availability when renting.

To pack mugs securely for a move, start by lining the bottom of a moving box with padded packing material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually, tucking the ends of the bubble wrap inside the mug for a snug fit. For extra protection, consider using a moving box with built-in slots to keep the mugs separated.

When placing the mugs in the box, pack them tightly enough to prevent them from shifting, but not so tightly that they are under pressure. Fill any empty gaps between the mugs with additional packing material. To keep the box from becoming too heavy, it's best to pack no more than 10 mugs per box. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” so movers know to handle it with care.

No, it is vital to transport a motorcycle upright because of its battery. These batteries are typically not sealed to avoid overpressurization, so the motorcycle could leak battery acid if it lays on its side. Plus, laying it on its side for a long period of time may cause hydrolock, which is when oil leaks into the combustion chamber, making your spark plug unable to ignite the gas due to lack of air.
