As long as your existing insulation isn’t compromised, you can add new insulation directly over them. Inspect your insulation thoroughly and make any minor repairs. Then, add new insulation on top of it. You must be completely certain that there is no contamination or mold growth before doing so. That said, when unsure, consider removing old insulation and lay down fresh ones.

Upgrading insulation enhances energy efficiency, noise reduction, and indoor temperature regulation. It leads to cost savings on energy bills, improved home comfort, and reduced environmental impact, increasing home value and livability.

You don’t need to remove old insulation before adding new insulation.
