Customers say: True professional

"I had a fantastic experience with VVB LLC on my drywall project. From start to finish they were efficient, timely, flexible with my schedule and their work was immaculate. I had a basement finishing project and had expected that I would need several different contractors for various aspects of the job, but Vasyl and Alexandr not only did an exceptional job on the drywall, but gave me valuable advice on the rest of my project as well as making improvements and upgrades to the house that were above and beyond what my wife and I had hoped for. It was a master class in professionalism and I will happily hire them again for any future projects. I can not speak highly enough about the quality of their results and I appreciate how wonderful my house looks now thanks to their talent and hard work. 5 stars!!"

"Had drywall repair over fireplace and textured the whole ceiling for painting in living room and dining area. They did a wonderful job. Very good about daily cleanup before they left. Punctual about arriving on time. Would definitely hire them again and would strongly recommend to all."

"Dennis is great.  When I called him to get the work done, he was very busy, but he worked with my schedule to find a time to squeeze me into his.
There was a lot of work, all of it in frankly unrewarding small pieces.  This is the kind of work we all have around our house, needing to get done, but not every painter that you call in is willing to do it.  Dennis is extremely patient and willing to add extras on to the original project when you belatedly discover that there is more to be done.  I discovered some damage to my exterior paint work the day before Dennis and his crew came over--they hadn't brought a tall enough ladder with them, but were great about the extra trip that had to be made to get it.
The bottom line--Dennis (and his crew) are extremely professional and great people to work with.  I've worked with Dennis on various parts of my home for the past six years: ceilings (and ceiling repair), the complete exterior, rooms, sills, trim and walls.  Every time he has been out, he makes it easy for me.  The job is always done right, if issues occur he fixes them, and his clean-up is meticulous.

"The job took about 8 days. Two colors were used on the house. After receiving Daren's initial bid, we carefully went through all the items that were to be done. Daren was easy and reasonable to work on making some adjustmens. The 3 painters who worked on the house were neat and tidy. Daren would update me daily on their progress; make notes of areas that they had repaired; and, discuss any questions about which color went where. For example we thought we wanted our porched painted in the trim color but we changed our mind to using the siding color. They called a week after being here and asked us to make a punch list of anything they missed."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

The tool you use to sand plaster will depend on the size of the project. If you’re just working on a small section of your wall to get rid of an uneven spot on the surface, hand-sanding might work. However, for larger projects, a drywall sander can make a huge difference when it comes to both time and elbow grease—and an orbital sander can help for detailed areas such as around ceiling fans.

Plaster is a beautiful finish but is labor-intensive to install and remove. It’s vulnerable to cracking and more sensitive to moisture variance than drywall. Installing plaster on a new wall is an expensive process that can take days to weeks, depending on the scope. Removing a plaster wall can also be quite expensive and time-consuming.

Common causes include water leaks, settling, and impact. Address underlying issues to prevent recurring damage.

Damp plaster does dry out, although the drying time depends on several factors, including the type of plaster, the surrounding temperature, moisture content, and the extent of the dampness. Sometimes, it can take weeks or months for wall plaster to dry naturally.

Plaster ceilings can sag for several reasons. In some cases, the plaster and other building materials shift and come apart over time, which is why you’ll commonly find drooping plaster ceilings in older homes. Improper installation, foot traffic, and water damage—often from a leaky roof or a broken pipe—can also cause plaster ceilings to sag.
