"Initially Charles came out in response to the Big Deal on Angie's list for an attic inspection. He thoroughly explained everything he was doing and provided recommendations to take care of problem areas. He then explained the benefits of an energy audit, both in terms of knowing how we may be able to save energy costs and qualify for a rebate from Consumers Energy. We decided to go ahead with the work which mainly consisted of the audit, adding cellulose insulation and changing the ventilation configuration to increase air flow. We also added some soffit vents where we didn't have any. When the owner of the company came out to do the venting, he said he would clean the old vents for better air flow. He was going to do this at no charge. However, he showed me the condition of the blockage from over 35 years of never having been cleaned, and paint accumulation, and suggested replacing those as well. There was absolutely no pressure to do this, just an explanation of the problem. In addition, bathroom fans were vented through the roof. We also had a hole in our siding from woodpecker damage, which was filled, as well as filling some trees in our yard with holes from insect damage. The latter two things were strictly requested by me. I felt everyone who came to the house was very professional. After the insulation was installed in the attic, the workmen cleaned everything up. They even moved some of the light furniture to make sure they got all insulation cleaned. I could tell because the marks furniture leaves on a carpet were showing, indicating it had been moved. I was very impressed with this company, and would not hesitate to use them again. I may have an update as winter approaches to see how much difference the insulation and ventilation makes in our comfort and/or fuel costs."
