"Critical: Professionalism, Value I called Omega to check out smoke transfer between flues. Al quoted flue top dampers at $900 each and cleanings at $300 each. He said he would need to schedule a day to do the work. Thinking this must be an extensive project, I bought it. Ten days later I finally was called to say they would come that afternoon to do it. After the cleaning they glued dampers to the tops of the flues and were done in about 45 minutes. Al defended his $750/hour labor rate and double cleaning rate, saying it was due to his "high overhead" costs that I didn't understand. I still don't understand. Omega Construction is aptly named, they are the last one you should think of calling. They apparently only maintain their good BBB rating because the BBB doesn't consider "pricing issues" or "buyer's remorse" in their calculations. BBB is basically another way to advertise."

"It rained bad on day before scheduled day to perform work. Joseph called me and rescheduled for later in the week.(weather permitting). The day was perfect. The work crew arrived on time and got to work right away. Additional subbase was required due to the fact that there was not enough existing for the width of the drive and the under lying soil conditions, this was an additional charge,but this possibility was already discussed earlier. The job price was reasonable and my Neighbor (A retired concrete and ashalt contractor) said "Not Bad"."

"We talked with several asphalt companies before we went with this one. We absolutely love the work that Asphalt Express did for us. We live in the woods & have a 1000ft driveway that winds by a pond, up a hill, past our barn, & ends up in a circular drive in front of the house. It's been dirt & gravel for years & keeps getting harder to maintain & fill in the pot holes. Debbie, from Asphalt Express, explained that they could do millings on the drive through the woods & then asphalt from the barn to the house. Everything was explained thoroughly, they worked with us budget wise, & even checked back with us a couple of times after the project was done to make sure we were happy & see if we had any questions. The owner & his crew were so nice & wanted to make sure they worked around my rocks in the driveway to my satisfaction. They did a great, slightly sloping, apron at the barn, too. This team was so professional & did everything possible to protect our yard from their equipment while they were here working. They were done in one day & we couldn't be happier. Gravel driveways are the most economical driveway material, followed pretty closely by asphalt and concrete. You don't technically need rebar for a concrete patio, but it's a good idea to install it, especially if your patio will support any heavy items. Without rebar, cracks will likely widen and cause the concrete to become uneven, compromising its structural integrity.

A paver patio will add more value than a concrete patio. Pavers are a more commonly preferred option from an aesthetic and longevity point of view, so most buyers will be willing to pay more for a paver patio than they would for a concrete one. Pavers also don’t require a permanent foundation, so they won’t increase your property taxes. Buyers also prefer lower property taxes, so that will play into the ROI you’ll see, too.
