"Overall, Wallside Windows did a good job (but there is room for improvement). Major upside of going with Wallside was promotional 0% interest loan for 6 years. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, replacing all the windows in a 7-hour period. However, the cost of such speed was large, obvious caulk lines on the exterior of the windows / new aluminum (too large of lines for my taste, could have been much neater lines), and left behind debris (e.g., at least 20 pieces of glass, screws, aluminum material). I would hire Wallside again, but would like them to consider hiring one additional person for cleanup so install crew can focus more on installing and cleanup person can continuously pick up old materials during the process."

Broken glass cannot usually be recycled. Most recycling programs state that glass must be intact in the form of bottles or jars in order to be recycled. You may be able to recycle broken glass at a drop-off recycling facility—contact the facility to see if they accept broken glass.
While finding your mirror cracked can be spooky, there are actually many logical and common reasons why this happens. First, the mirror may have been mounted unevenly in the first place. Over time, poor mounting leads to stress points that will eventually cause a mirror to crack. Other common causes of a mirror spontaneously cracking include dramatic temperature shifts, strong thunder or a loud crash somewhere in the distance, exposure to heat and sunlight, and an uneven wall in your home. Standard mirrors come in many different shapes, sizes, and thicknesses, so you can often find a great fit for your space without adding customizations. Custom mirrors are ideal if your space has very specific constraints. For instance, you may need a much longer or wider mirror than you can find in a standard mirror. You might also want a custom mirror if you have particular styling preferences, such as a frame with a specific finish or a unique edge.

To tell if a window is single or double-pane, focus on the edge. Double-pane windows have two glass layers separated by a spacer, which you can usually see around the edges. For single-pane windows, it’s just one sheet of glass. Another easy trick: shine a light at the window—single-pane glass reflects once, while double-pane glass reflects twice. Lastly, if you feel both sides of the glass on a cold day, double-paned windows will feel warmer because of the insulating gap between the panes.
