They did not explain clearly what they were going to do and cut through my carpet in several places, so I had to hire another pro fix it and to replace the baseboards that EverDry removed. EverDry gave me a small rebate, which covered the cost of repair, but I thought they should have paid for a new carpet to be installed, given the major damage they did. They were extremely expensive and I strongly recommended that others be extremely cautious about hiring them, making sure you understand exactly what they will do to your house to complete the job. "

"Salesman here 6 hrs. Quoted over $30lk got down to $25,500. Of course it was a good for today sign now price I had more estimates lined up but after 6 hrs and him acting like he was my husbands new bf and beer buddy he signed. Scheduled walkthrough- that was cancelled. Started work and had ?issues? that walk through would have found. Blew circuit breaker in workshop of basement, we now need an electrician bc even w replacing the circuit breaker w a new breaker it still turns off. "We hired FSM Grand Rapids to spray foam insulate our crawl space and install a dehumidifier to help with the dampness in that area. All four workers, Jalen, DeShawn, Reggie, and Jamont were very friendly, helpful, respectful and professional. The exact cost of bricks depends on the type and size of the bricks you use for your project. Generally, standard clay bricks cost between $350 and $850 for a thousand bricks, or an average of $550. Brick veneer costs around the same for materials but is easier to install than solid bricks, so you’ll save on labor by choosing this option.

Yes, you can do German schmear on stone. You can account for the more textured and rough surface of stone by using a large paintbrush instead of a putty knife. A brush allows you to drag mortar across the stone to get it into all the cracks and crevices. However, a brush will cover more of the surface, so you may need a wet sponge to scrub excess mortar and expose more of your stone.

Drilling into brick or mortar requires the use of a masonry drill bit. Masonry drill bits appear similar to standard drill bits except for the leading tip of the bit. The tip has a bulky carbide arrow-shaped end slightly larger than the rest of the bit shaft. Standard or high-speed drill bits designed for making holes in wood or metal don’t have the ruggedness or design shape you need to drill into brick. They may not go through the brick at all, and if they do, they’re more likely to overheat, crack, or dull before you finish drilling.

You can purchase from many brick manufacturers and distributors via their websites, where you can also get estimates based on the quantity you need. You’ll find bricks at your local home improvement stores as well, though they won’t have as much of a variety to choose from. As for antique bricks, secondary selling websites like eBay can be a great resource.

Handbuilt masonry fireplaces are likely what comes to mind when we think about curling up by the fire at the end of the day. But bricks in the firebox and chimney tend to be heavy, which is not ideal for homes with weak or damaged foundations.
