If it is getting late in the day and they want to go home they are just going to slap it together. I don't know if the pic does it justice but it is glaring in real life. Backsplash ? I spent $650 just on the tiles. I asked the owner to replace the outer trimming because it has chips in it. He told me that wasn't possible because there will always be small chips in it when they cut it with a saw. Okay, so why did I waste $650 on this stuff if it isn't going to look good any way? He offered to fill in the chips with grout. Still hasn't contacted me about when he is going to that. I still think it should be replaced. This job was a complete tear-out of the old bathroom down to the studs - removing walls, ceiling, floor, tub and all the rest of the hardware. Our house was built in 1947 and this bathroom was mostly from that age. We replaced the ceramic wall and floor tiles with marble and the cast iron tub with a Euro-type shower; the toilet, vanity and exhaust fan/ducting were also replaced. When the ceiling was torn out Chuck noticed that a sewer standpipe that had been installed/modified in some previous remodeling on the second floor was not glued causing leaking if rain came down the pipe. They fixed that and fixed some wiring that was oddly installed. Chuck did a careful, terriffic job. He is professional, personable and knowledgeable about home remodeling. He told us each day after he finished work when he would be back the and showed up on time each time. The same was true of the guys working with him. The tile work is the best I've ever seen. When work finished they cleaned up each day and left our house livable while work was ongoing. Chuck's recommendations/suggestions on design and color when asked were right on. He is a great resouce to help in deciding on various hardware and design details.

We brought him back a year later for more work. HVAC duct work and plumbing initially installed at incorrect locations. Plumber later set fire inside new wall while soldering in cutoffs. Cutoffs were supposed to stop water to new 1st floor shower. Instead, they shut off water to the upstairs bathroom. Plumber also failed to secure the shower valve, which can be pulled out from the wall. Electricians failed to properly install a whole house surge protector supplied through them. No power to the unit as indicated by system lights not being on. During rewiring of 1st floor bathroom, disconnected the 2nd floor bathroom's GFI circuit. Although advised that this would be an issue, they failed to install a new GFI in that bathroom; i.e., it was unprotected. Drywall subcontractor was subpar. He had to come back several times to fix obvious problems but never completed the job properly. I ended up hiring another drywaller to fix the unsightly issues left by Accent's man. One-of-a-kind kitchen countertop ordered with wrong edging. Bathroom countertop required several redoes, and subcontractor ended up stating the job could not be performed as specified. Ultimately, Accent's owner came out to show that it could be done after I wrote a letter explaining my concerns and why I was not signing off on the job and was withholding final payment. Very poor job oversight. Little concern shown by subcontractors for our property. Ruined two spots on our front lawn by disposing of excess materials. Used newly installed kitchen sink to clean tools instead of the known utility sink in the basement. Failed to use tarps to protect appliances and cabinets. Did not properly clean up after themselves. The marble tile shower floor in the master bath was all cracked and coming up, and the bottom row of marble tiles on the wall were stained and filthy (probably from standing water since the drain was completely clogged). We brought in five companies to assess the situation and provide estimates to repair it. All of the other companies were overly concerned with matching the existing marble tiles and recommended redoing the whole shower area (at least). They claimed it would look terrible if the tiles weren't a great match, and they didn't want to do something that wouldn't look great in the end. Then Husband For A Day took a look at it and actually focused on the real problem -- the shower floor. They provided an estimate to rebuild the shower pan plus a few other tasks, and it was a fraction of what others were estimating. We were very impressed with their level-headed assessment and reasonable attitude about what should be done. Going into the work, they said they could take down the existing row of dirty wall tiles, clean them, and put them back up. We were skeptical since everyone else claimed you could never get them off without breaking them. While we hoped HFAD was right, we were expecting to need new tiles. It turned out that the wall tiles did break when coming off the wall, but luckily we found a pretty good match after a weekend of searching. (I'll note here that my wife and I had to find, pick out, purchase, and bring home all of the tiles for this project ourselves, but that was actually our preference.) The first thing they did when arriving to start work was tape down sturdy brown paper all the way up to the master bathroom to protect our wood floors and stairs. This obvious respect for our home impressed us. In fact, during the whole process, Dale, Doug, and Matt were all very pleasant and respectful. While they were working in the bathroom, another contractor cracked a marble tile in our fireplace hearth. We consulted with Dale, and he offered to fix the hearth for free (and HFAD didn't even break it)! They were also very accommodating with the grout in the kitchen. My wife and I had trouble picking the right color, and Doug changed the grout twice due to our indecisiveness, even making an extra trip to the hardware store at the end of his long day. He did this without any hint of frustration and at no additional charge. I was very impressed with their focus on customer satisfaction. When all the work was done, we were very satisfied. We noticed a few minor things that were not perfect, but considering they are a handyman service, not tiling artisans, the work was very good. Based on their quality work, quality character, and reasonable prices, I recommend Husband For A Day. The folks at Kapalua did a great job. We are very happy with the results - a big improvement over the previous finish. We had them refinish the floors in 5 rooms in our house. From start to finish, it took them around 4 days. The sanding was completed the first day, and then subsequent coats...

"TLDR: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I'm out $12k and have to pay another company to replace the floors Four Seasons destroyed. When I first met with Rob he came to the house I had just purchased and was very confident as he made his way around my house looking at my floors. He explained the type of wood floors the house had and made sure to give me a timeline for how long the job would take. He concretely stated it would take 3 days to complete the work. His confidence gave me confidence that he would do a great job. After receiving the quote for roughly $12,000, we pulled the trigger and hired Four Seasons. We scheduled the work to be done before we moved into the house with the 3-day window Rob stated would take the crew to complete the job. When the crew showed up, they laughed in my face when I told them we were moving in. They said the job would take a week at minimum to complete. I didn't have an option to bump back my move in date as I was moving from across the state and had to move out of our old house. Rob came through and said they will have to do 1 floor first then the other and we'll have to move our furniture around to accommodate. I was annoyed but, it was getting done so, whatever. Once they got our dining room/den sanded down, it was explained to me that the floors were engineered hardwood and they sanded through to the plywood in a few spots. Oops! Rob said "no big deal. We can come back later and replace those few boards." They also never finished reinstalling the shoe molding through roughly 50% of the house. He claimed he would come back "in a couple of weeks to get it finished up." So, I had him come back to replace the boards in the floor and look at the molding in which he said "no, you can't really do that" and said we should just replace the whole floor in that room for "about $4500 to $5000". Understandably, I was p***** but what could I do? Fast forward 6 months and we're in the middle of summer and humidity. With the increase in humidity the parquet floor in the family room buckled in 2 different directions. This floor has been in the house since 1962 and has never buckled. However, when he refinished the floor he said it was "loose and needed tightening." to which he then tightened and glued the ends so it would stay tight. He claimed to have "fixed" the floor. Now it's so tight that it doesn't allow for expansion and contraction. I messaged Rob about this to which he got an attitude and said that it had nothing to do with his work and it was a moisture problem I needed to solve. I let him know this has never happened in the past and he said they I should just contact a different professional. I've had 3 different floor companies all come out and take one look at the floor, shake their head and then apologize for laughing. Every company has let me know how I got screwed in the deal and they the sanding of the engineered wood should never have happened and the "tightening" of the parquet is what ruined the floor. To say that I'm disappointed is the understatement the year. I spent $12k on "refinished" floors that now just have to be completely replaced because Four Seasons came through and essentially destroyed them."

Here we are two days later and still no idea when the appointment is supposed to happen. Communication is poor at best. Amazing that a company that's been in business this long plays games like this."

We had zero rain here from 7:45 AM all the way to 3:30 PM. I wasted a vacation day as well. Contacted my salesman. He tells me he will get back to me. Here we are two days later and still no idea when the appointment is supposed to happen. Communication is poor at best. Amazing that a company that's been in business this long plays games like this."

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines.
Hiring an unlicensed flooring installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
