I'm the reason there's such a gap in recommendations here--I didn't want them lining up jobs with anyone else! Remodeling is an unending series of such choices, so if they were ever to lose patience, I'd know by now. I could go on and on but this is already too long. Just one more thing: My two dogs can’t wait for DNA to get here each day. One of them is a very active two-year-old terrier mix, and when the weather finally improved this spring, I had Derek and Alex take a break from the home work to patch up a corral fence down at the barn, so I could train and play with my young pup off leash. They did so in a trice (and installed a new gate, and better latches for the barn doors; and mowed the weeds in the corral and then the field path), then Derek thought that Junie, the pup, might like a toybox down there. I thought that was the cutest idea I've ever heard! So he built an open-topped wooden box, affixed to the side of the barn at Junie-height, which has been a resounding success. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough."

"The CHW Tech was unable to connect the air condition to the Nest thermostat because it was not registering but he was able to provide us with cool air until the previous HVAC company was able to come and fix the system the next day. I had to pay the CHW Tech for the entire service but was reimbursed by the original company that installed the furnace because they knew that this was their error."

Bob was excellent!  He did everything from replacing the door (which needed to be cut down to size) to stabilizing two stair rails to installing woodwork.  He hung several heavy objects for me in the living room and moved the toilet so that I could finish papering the bathroom.  When he replaced it, he did a proper job of re-installing it - something the floor installers did NOT do. 

Bob did a terrific job on everything.  He is very skilled and can repair just about anything that needs it.  He was prompt and handled everything (even unexpected problems with the door frame) with ease. I will definitely hire him again!

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
