JLM offers constant communication and at no point in the process do our clients feel as though they are not part of the total process from design to completion. Communication is of the utmost importance at JLM and pride ourselves with being available 24-7. JLM offers over 25 years of experience and knowledge in the industry and have earned a long list of extremely satisfied repeat clientel that are willing to be a reference and offer their homes as a tour. The company is owner-operated, and owner is hands on for the entire construction process as well as being the project manager. "I hired JLM Home Solutions to install all my interior doors and closets including frames/casings in my upstairs. Jason was a horrible person the entire time I hired him. He acted like a nice person just to get hired. I regret hiring him. Unfortunately I had signed a contract by the time I found out he was no good. Every time I brought up something that was not done right, he’d yell and raise his voice at me. He’s very rude and unprofessional with the worst customer service. He was rude on text, rude on phone and rude in person. Jared, I guess one of his employees was a great person, very polite and did an amazing job. He worked on the project in a professional manner. He didn’t come back though to finish the project because Jason sent another person instead, David, who did an awful job. Jason didn’t want to hear it that David’s work was not the greatest. I had to put a stop payment after I found out one of the closet doors wasn’t installed right and other things that were wrong. Jason got so upset that he had to come back to fix the problem after I told him I didn’t want David. Jason came to my house but failed to fix the problem still. Instead he made me feel threatened in my own house. He was all in my face yelling at me saying nothing was wrong with the closet. Even my little dog was scared. I had to call my daughter and son to come over because I was so terrified that he was maybe going to hurt me. I stayed on the phone all the time while he was there so someone could hear his abusive behavior. That day after Jason left, I had to get a second opinion on the closet. Another contractor couldn’t believe the way the closet was installed and for Jason to insist it was okay. He left the old frame on and didn’t want to here when I mentioned it. I’ll have this closet removed and a new one with new frame installed the right way. I had to insist Jason deduct some money for that closet from the balance owed to him. A couple of days later, I noticed my kitchen door they installed still had cracks on the inside frame close to the lock. I had mentioned that to him. I texted him to let him know with pictures showing the cracks. Now Jason won’t respond to my text, email or phone. I asked him to send one of his guys to fix the door. Not him because I don’t want him around me. I’ve tried everything to get to him. I know he’s ignoring me. I paid him so much money for this project. If I don’t hear from him I’ll have no choice but to file small claims. He cannot leave my door like that after I paid him so much money and thinks he can just get away with it. If there was an option of zero stars, that’s what I’d have given JLM."

Garages questions, answered by experts

An average two-car garage size is about 580 square feet. A common dimension for a two-car garage is 24-feet deep by 24-feet wide, as measured by the interior width. However, the manufacturing of larger vehicle sizes means many homeowners want to build bigger garages. It’s not uncommon for a two-car garage to be 30-feet by 30-feet.

If you're cleaning out your garage, taking everything out first and starting with a clean slate can help. Reviewing what you have and what you want to get rid of makes organizing your garage, thoroughly cleaning the space, and making any repairs easier. When you put back the items you’re keeping, use designated storage solutions to make it easier to find things and keep them tidy.

With so many vastly different options to choose from, how can you find an inexpensive garage floor that you can also confidently say is the best? The right solution will be different for everyone and truly depends on your individual needs and stylistic tastes.

If you’re working with a smaller budget, a low-cost coating such as paint, sealer, or stain might be the best way to express your style in the garage. If you need a high-performance surface that can handle the tough projects and maintenance you do in the garage, or if you want a wide range of colorful customization options, flexible tiles might be for you.

Fiberglass is considered a favorite garage insulation choice due to its combination of affordability, ease of installation, and overall effectiveness. Fiberglass provides good thermal resistance, helping regulate garage temperatures and minimize heat transfer. Additionally, fiberglass is moisture-resistant, reducing the risk of mold or mildew formation.

A prefab, or prefabricated garage, requires far less construction work than one with a foundation and frame, but it’s not nearly as desirable and may not be a worthwhile option. A prefabricated garage won’t be as durable or long-lasting, and it doesn’t provide the same protection for your belongings and vehicles. Plus, you can use a standard garage for more uses—like living space—whereas a prefab garage only serves as a space for storage. Lastly, building a traditional garage will add to your home value, while a prefab garage usually won’t.
