Emergency services offered

Advantage Plumbing & Drain is your first call for plumbing needs – residential or commercial. Whether you have a leaky pipe, clogged drain, or find yourself needing an expert to install a new septic system, Advantage Plumbing & Drain can help! Each of our highly skilled technicians are certified, insured, and trained to tackle any plumbing, sewer or drainage problem.

"The tech was able to clear the line out and remove the unnecessary second trap. He snaked the drain and since then everything is running well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the tech forgot to put the washer discharge hose back into the utility tub, so had I not checked that, I would have had water all over my basement. Simple oversite, but could have been costly."

We offer discounts for Senior Citizens and Military personnel (active and retired). We will beat any competitor's price. We honor competitor's coupons.

"I am so glad I found this company! I first tried using Mr Rooter. They charged me $308 and didn’t fix the problem. They said I needed to dig up my floor and quoted me $1400 to start. The tech also left a mess. I called Minuteman to get another estimate. Dylan Secord arrived and he was very prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. He was able to pull out the roots that were causing the drain problem at a fraction of the cost ($175). Dylan cleaned up the mess and left everything tidy. He also gave me a two month warranty on their work. He is my super hero and I would highly recommend!!!"

Family owned & operated. 24/7 Service including Holidays and Weekends. We answer our phones personally, no answering service!

"Meeting went well. Talked through the process and answered questions. Received lower rating in one area because arrived 20 minutes late with no phone call indicating being held up by prior job. Otherwise, pleased."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Most commercial liquid drain cleaners work in 15 to 30 minutes. Consult the label on the bottle for additional instructions or time suggestions to prevent damage to your drainpipes. Alternative solutions such as baking soda, salt, white vinegar, and/or boiling water can take longer since they are less harsh than liquid drain cleaners.

If the toilet is overflowing but there’s no clog, that’s a sign that the issue is deeper in the system, and plunging may not help. A blockage in your home’s plumbing, the plumbing vent, or even city sewer lines can cause toilets to overflow. The issue could also be the toilet itself if the filler float isn’t set to the correct height or if parts are damaged or worn out.

It’s generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. In most cases, the level of sewer gas you’re exposed to in a home will be low enough to only cause minor symptoms, though high levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous. If you’re smelling sewer gas in your home, it’s important to locate, assess, and fix the problem, because it won’t go away on its own.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.
