"Crew worked very fast, completed our project in 1.5 days. System has worked well throughout the last 9 months including very heavy rainfall days. Our basement is dry, and we can go out of town without having to check the weather forecast to see whether I must stay home instead and dry-vac the basement."

"They are great to work with. Communication was superior. They stand by their work. A few years ago I had waterproofing done in my basement and this time they spray foamed the cavities of the basement too. Both times they did awesome work and cleaned up too! I highly recommend this company!"

"StayDry is a very experienced and ethical company. They have successfully repaired two leaks in our basement with their injection process. They were very professional and responsive to our needs. They also stand behind their work. I also wanted a full basement assessment thinking I had larger issues than the two leaks that we had so far. Dave, the owner, came out to do a professional inspection. I was ready to spend some money to solve my issues. However, he was very honest and said I donâ t think you have a basement issue. He did point out some air flow issues, which led to the drafts in my basement. I was thinking the air was coming from my basement walls and needed to be seal but he suggested better insulation and told me how to do it myself even though itâ s a service they offer. He was willing to do the work but his primary goal was to get the job done correctly at the most affordable price to me. He really wants the best outcome for his customers even if that means he is not making money. He truly understands the concept of a long-term relationship rather than making a quick sell. Dave and his company are amazing. If you have a water leaking issue, he will take care of it. If you donâ t have an issue, he will be very upfront and honest with you. Either way you will be very well served with StayDry basements. I highly recommend them."

"What a great group of hard working men and impressive group working as a team. They were on time, got right to work and didn't stop until the job was done! they were very respectful of our home and did a great job cleaning up not only the basement but back filling the trench and raking the dirt smooth.

We priced another company to fix our basement wall.  They were over $1,000 higher and the project was going to be much more involved.  It seemed the representative from this company just told us about the most expensive way to solve our problem, no other options.   Foundation Specialist did a lot more research and came up with more than one option and explained the benefits.  Saved us a lot of money and did a great job.

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

In nearly all cases, you are required to install a vapor barrier in your crawl space. However, local regulations will change based on the local climate and the crawl space's susceptibility to moisture. Even if a vapor barrier is not legally required, it is often a good idea to keep your crawl space dry.

French drains and yard grading systems are two highly effective ways to fix standing water around the foundation. Since the French drain uses a perforated pipe covered by gravel, you won’t have to worry about water taking the soil away from your foundation. Meanwhile, yard grading levels out the ground to prevent water from gathering around your foundation.

Venting the crawl space can be a good alternative to encapsulation if you live in a dry climate and the moisture problem isn’t severe. You could also try a dehumidifier or install a vapor barrier on the floor, leaving the walls exposed. A new drainage system may eliminate the moisture problem if it is not caused by humidity.

Yes, the air from a damp basement can travel up into your living area through a process called the stack effect, so moisture, mold spores, and other debris in your basement air can all decrease your indoor air quality on your main floors. Additionally, damp basements can promote the rotting of building materials, which can damage flooring, insulation, and framing on your first floor in addition to materials in the basement.

Ideal humidity conditions generally range from 30% to 50%, with 45% considered optimal humidity for most homes. If your humidity levels drop below that range, you can turn your dehumidifier off. Additionally, suppose the temperature where the dehumidifier is installed falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In that case, it's best to turn it off and unplug it since cooler temperatures can cause the unit's coils to freeze.
