"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"The 2 guys (one of them was named Jason) that she hired/subcontracted to do the job showed up an hour late. I think this was an honest miscommunication between Jessica and the two guys though (from talking with them).
At first they seemed enthusiastic & optimistic about the job, but when we pressed them for an official written estimate for the cost of the job, they said we had to contact Jessica. We contacted Jessica and she said we had to get it from the two guys. The two guys went out to buy supplies but when they returned, they decided not to do the job after being asked again for an itemized estimate on paper.
They said that they were not comfortable with staining the cabinets and thought the job was more difficult than they initially anticipated. They did not want to ruin our cabinets.
We are very pleased with their honesty and would rather have someone quit than try to wing it. They were professional and we respect their decision. They did not seem like they had experience with staining kitchen cabinets or with other alternatives like refacing/refinishing them. After talking with a few other cabinet specialists, a few of the things that they told us were not correct. I do wish that we would have been told this to begin with and not taken on the job if they were not experienced with kitchen cabinet staining (we would have went with someone else and had the job completed sooner rather than having to start back at square one).
Part of me wonders if it had something to do with pushing them for a written itemized estimate detailing parts and labor costs (rather than a simple email message with a total price). Maybe it was just a coincidence. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Pros:
Professional
Quick to respond
Honest
Competitive pricing
Cons:
Not experienced with staining kitchen cabinets
No itemized estimate before starting the job
Miscommunications / suboptimal organization between Jessica and her subcontractors as detailed above."

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

Custom cabinets made from solid wood tend to last the longest, remaining in good condition for 20 to 50 years. Cabinet lifespan depends on upkeep, the amount of heat and moisture inside the home, and general wear and tear. Popular hardwood options include oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and hickory. Its longevity means that solid wood is more expensive than alternative materials like furniture board, laminate, and plywood. The average cost of solid wood cabinets ranges from $100 to $1,200 per linear foot.

It is typically cheaper to buy stock or semi-custom cabinets than to build custom ones. The price difference is significant:

  • Custom Cabinets: Cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot. This price is affected by materials, size, design complexity, and door styles. For instance, a simple slab door's materials might cost $60-$70, while a decorative mullioned glass door could be $100-$200.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: Cost between $150 and $700 per linear foot.

  • Stock Cabinets: Cost between $100 and $400 per linear foot.

While buying pre-built cabinets is more cost-effective, building custom cabinets allows for full modification to fit unique spaces, such as rooms with high ceilings or unusual layouts, which stock options cannot accommodate.

The cost to install a kitchen island can range from $900 to $6,500, with an average price of around $4,800 for most homeowners. The final cost depends on whether you choose a prefabricated or custom-built option. It is generally cheaper to buy a prefabricated island than to build one from scratch. A budget-friendly prefabricated cart can cost between $150 and $900, while a permanent prefabricated stationary island costs from $900 to $5,000. Custom-built kitchen islands average $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more, depending on factors like materials, size, design complexity, and accessibility.

Most services include custom cuts and edge treatments to fit your space. Confirm with your provider.

Deciding whether to buy or build a kitchen island depends primarily on two things: your budget and your plans for the island. If you need a working sink or electrical access, you’re safest going with a custom unit. If not, look into a prefabricated unit.
