"The team was extremely professional, personable, and did a FANTASTIC job on installing our new flooring. Very impressed with how the team spoke highly of the owner which is always nice to hear and shows class! They also went above and beyond the scope of the project with a couple of other requests. Thanks to Dave Satur and his team! We highly recommend them!"

"Refloor did a great job on my basement and laundry room floors. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and made picking a color easy. My old floors were scratched up because of my dogs but my new floor is definitely more durable. I definitely recommend Refloor to anyone that wants new flooring in their home, you won't be disappointed!"

Customers say: Quality work

"After purchasing a new home in Dexter, MI, we hired Summit Construction to install a new hardwood floor in the master bedroom, and re-finish the floors in the rest of the first floor living area. Both jobs turned out fantastic and Jim was a pleasure to work with. He laid out options, made suggestions and the workmanship was flawless. Then "tragedy" struck, and part of the kitchen floor was ruined when the new water line to the refrigerator leaked. After advising us to wait several months for the sub-floor to dry out, Jim came out again and repaired the kitchen floor. You cannot see where the repaired area starts and stops - again, flawless workmanship. My highest recommendation goes to Summit Ridge Construction!"

"Ali and his partner did the best work I’ve ever seen on carpet installation. Very professional and done in a very reasonable time. Made the previous carpet look bad. I would highly recommend them for doing excellent work and for a very good price did my whole upstairs and I’m having do my main floor too after the great job they did. Dave Petrat. AAA+"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Most people realize it is time to replace the padding when the carpet loses springiness or feels thin and unsupportive. Other telltale signs are lumps or dips in the carpet that could look unattractive or cause tripping hazards. Similarly, if your carpet is making a crinkly sound or starting to wear out prematurely, you might need to replace your padding.

In most cases, carpeting isn’t kind to the wood that it’s attached to. Most carpet installation uses adhesive or nailing strips, both of which will damage wood. Conversely, you can choose to use an adhesive designed to be removed from wood, in which case carpeting can actually protect your hardwood stairs.

It’s better to lift and set down furniture; sliding it across the floor is more likely to cause damage to both the floor and the furniture itself. For very heavy items, consider using a dolly with rubber wheels. It is possible to purchase sliders designed specifically for gliding furniture across floors, but you still risk causing permanent damage to flooring if you use them.

Yes, you can recycle most types of carpet. If you hire a pro to remove your old carpet, ask about their carpet disposal process. Many companies will recycle the carpeting, but if yours doesn’t, you can ask them to take it to a recycling center for you (although there might be an additional fee). Alternatively, you can hire a junk hauling service or contact a carpet recycling organization (like CARE).

Your floor sees a lot of action: foot traffic bringing in dirt from outside, pets with muddy paws, kids dropping food crumbs, and more. All of this makes your floors dirty, and if you don’t keep up with cleaning them, staying on top of the dirt will become more challenging.
