"Absolutely Terrible and Lawn is dying with their services! We have been using them for 10 years. This year their applied services have ruined our lawn. Bloomfield manager came out finally and said,”Yep your lawn is needed up!” And the did it! Used to have best lawn in the neighborhood with sod and no weeds! Not anymore and the same services were performed by TrueGreen as previous years! We are going to post signs in our yard saying “Work performed by TrueGreen”!!! Absolutely the worst lawn killing service!!"

"Hired to bring in top soil and plant grass. Worst job I have ever seen, grass did not grow, top soil was more like “top sand”. I would not recommend this business for anything other than mowing and leaf pickup. We have hired them for other projects around our property and the result is the same each time. Would love to support local business however we also want quality work. I hate writing this, but there is an old saying “Caveat emptor” (let the buyer beware). Was charged for over 20 yards of top soil, received maybe 5-10."

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

Aim to have your trees inspected and pruned in early spring. At this point in the year, tree service professionals can note where there is old growth from winter and cut that back to encourage new growth for the rest of the year. Pruning at the wrong time of the year could make your trees prone to diseases.

No, you don’t need a pruning seal for trees post-trim. Pruning seals (applied to the cut ends of branches) are widely sold but they aren’t designed for every tree and in many cases can cause more harm. Trees have their own healing processes after pruning, so the best thing you can do is supply them with plenty of water and add some dormant-style fertilizer.

Pruning seals are primarily recommended for very vulnerable species like elm trees in areas where dangerous tree diseases like Dutch elm disease are spreading. In these cases, a sealant’s protection outweighs its downsides.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.
