"M&M does nice looking work, but, my roofing job as discussed with the owner was not done the way it should have been. I now have a nice looking roof with an indentation that looks like a bowling ball was dropped from the sky and hit it. This low spot was discussed prior to starting the work and I had expected it to be done as the contract said that extra work was $45.00 an hour plus materials which I had no problem with. There was really nothing wrong with my roof as it was only 10 years old. I had a skylite I wanted removed and the low spot repaired and a complete tear off and replacement with new shingles and the proper underlayment."

There are some tips when hiring a cabinet installer that’ll help prepare you to create a new space. When installing new cabinets, keep the following in mind:

  • Hire the same cabinet installer professional to measure, design, and install the cabinets, as opposed to jumping between companies. 

  • Discuss what types of cabinets the installer offers, including stock, semi-custom, and custom, to give yourself options.

  • Discuss financing options with your installer, as this project can be expensive depending on your chosen cabinets.

  • Discuss your cabinet installer’s prior experience, including asking for photos of previous projects. 

While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. Normal kitchen cabinet installation starts with the upper wall cabinets. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.

Using a shim or another type of self-leveling feet on the bottom edge of your cabinet bases will help to level them out if you’re installing them on a less-than-level surface. To make this process easier, you can add your shims before attaching the bases to your cabinets while they’re still light and easy to move around.

It can take anywhere from two to six hours to install bathroom cabinets, depending on the complexity of the project. Keep in mind that this doesn’t include the time to build custom cabinets if you go that route. You can also expect the project to be on the lower end of the range if you hire a pro, as opposed to DIYing the task.
