Customers say: True professional

"I’m caring for my 92 year old widowed Mother who needed a bed frame with headboard footboard with king mattress assembled immediately and damaged vinyl floor tiles replaced in a small bathroom. Tim arrived within 15 minutes of me speaking to him. Tim agreed to do the tasks at a phenomenally low price. The bed assembly was beyond complicated that’s why my Husband and I hired Tim who professionally assembled it even though the directions had crucial screws labeled incorrectly and over 100 pieces. Taking no break and not even accepting the offer for coffee Tim quickly moved onto ripping up the old vinyl tiles in the bathroom and installing 24” X aprox 48” tiles in the bathroom. He did an excellent job and that floor is so beautiful. It’s faux marble with clear caulk which looks so fresh and clean. I am thrilled with Tim’s hard work ethic, polite manners, skilled craftsmanship and trailer full of all the right tools. I plan on using Tim again and already referred him to a Friend."

"They installed a chandelier in my old house. There were only 2 wires and no grounding wire so I didn't want to do it myself. Ryan did an estimate and then came out less then a week later to install my light."

"I found Rick on Angies List back in the first part of April, I had him come and give me an estimate. I e-mailed him a week later to check availability, my shock and surprise he had booked up through July! I had 3 other painters come in but I really wanted Rick. I was going to hire one of the others but I sent Rick one more e-mail just in case he'd had a cancelation. To my surprise, he would be available for the following week! He said he'd be here at 8:00 Wed. and on the dot he and his helper RJ arrived. I had just had wood flooring installed and was really concerned but after the first day I was so pleased. We had moved all of the furniture into the middle of the room and they covered everything. They did a room a day, carefully removing all of my window treatments, at the end of the job, everything was put back with care. Oh one more thing, on day 3 I had new windows installed on 2 floors. . .Rick caulked and painted all of them at no added cost!! You just don't find their type of service these day. As you can probably tell I would give him a reference at any time, as a matter of fact I did have him give me a quote for the outside of my home."

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

As with any service provider, it’s customary to tip professional TV mounters after they complete your TV mounting service. Consider tipping 20% of the service cost, or $10 to $20 per professional. Tipping is always appreciated, especially for a labor-intensive mounting job or one that requires multiple people and hours.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

Determining if mounting a TV on the wall or mounting it on a stand is better boils down to personal preference. TV mounts are an excellent choice for homes that have limited space, unruly dogs, or young children. They also allow you to customize the height and viewing angle more easily. At the same time, mounting a TV on an entertainment center stand offers additional storage space, a place to hide the wires, and fewer holes in the wall. Renters may also have limitations on drilling holes into the wall above certain diameters.

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.

Finding a professional to mount your television to the wall is a little challenging because no licenses exist for this type of work. You could ask friends or neighbors for recommendations. Check out online reviews, too. Typically, though, almost any local handyman can do the work. A local electronics store or the place where you bought the TV may have a recommendation for you. A local framer or drywall installer might do the work for you as well. If you need an outlet installed for the new TV, an electrician may do both items for you.
