"Colette was fabulous. We needed to paint our kitchen cabinets and while we were thinking of painting them black, we were concerned it would be too much with our black counters and black backsplash. Colette considered our adjoining rooms and the overall look of our house to suggest a color that worked for our cabinets as well as several rooms in our home. Her recommendation was spot on and it surpassed our expectations. Even our cabinet painters were blown away. Would absolutely hire Colette again!"

"Chris, the lead technician has been an excellent contact, he listens carefully and is good at making practical recommendations. Ours was a big irrigation and lighting job - almost commercial scale - and they handled it comfortably. Would have given five stars if they could have started earlier, but I appreciate that covid has made some challenges for getting and retaining enough staff."

"I was tremendously impressed with the quality and the overall design of my garden area. More importantly is the men who did the work. The workmanships was very impressive and even though the plans was previously determined, the workers suggested an alternative to what was discussed. After the work was completed, the team leader walked me through and pointed out the end result. I’m positive my neighbors are going to inquire about who did the work."

"Nothing but good things to say! We got a new sprinkler system put in-- Everything was smooth and well-communicated from my first call, through to the install. I always felt in the loop and knew what to expect, which is huge. They fit our job in quickly and they took great care while on the property. Will be recommending to others!"

Lighting questions, answered by experts

High-quality landscape lights that are hardwired and properly maintained can last for 10 to 25 years or more. You’ll usually get a longer lifespan from soffit lights and wall-mounted lights that aren’t directly exposed to the elements or prone to damage from foot traffic or vehicle traffic. Solar-powered and battery-powered lights often won’t last as long, but you can still expect a lifespan of five to 15 years.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

One possibility is that they aren’t getting enough sunlight during the day, which could be due to a lack of sunshine in your area or trees blocking the solar panel. Alternatively, if the solar panel is dirty or the batteries are dying, your solar lights might not operate at full brightness.

Between seasons, inspect cords for damage, replace burnt-out bulbs, and clean lighting fixtures to prevent dirt buildup. Proper storage in cool, dry conditions will extend the lights' lifespan and minimize repairs or replacements when redeployed.

The lifespan of a pool light depends on the type, but thankfully, these lights are designed to last a long time before they need to be replaced. LED bulbs last the longest, about 20,000 to 30,000 hours, while incandescent bulbs last the shortest amount of time, about 1,000 to 5,000 hours. Fiber optic pool lights will last around 6,000 hours.
