"It went very well, Cody arrived on time, explained what he was doing and did it. I find Cody Thompson to be a very good service man and was satisfied with him arriving on time, doing his job and telling when he was done and what he had done. Thank You !!"

But I only want to make sure its done right, The first time.\nI've been doing maintainece repairs for about 2 and half years now. I started off on my own path a couple of weeks ago and I've been off to what seems like a great start. I would be more than willing to see what kinda project you have to throw at this novice repair man.

"He came promptly and charged me a price that was more than fair to drive out to my home and fix my portable generator. He even took into consideration that we were without power and needed the job done quickly."

"Flawless Panel Upgrade and EV Charger Install for My F-150 Lightning – PowerHub Homes is the Real Deal! I had an absolutely outstanding experience with PowerHub Homes here in West Bloomfield, MI. I hired them for a panel upgrade and to install a Level 2 EV charger for my Ford F-150 Lightning, and they exceeded every expectation. From the initial consultation, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to understand both my current needs and future energy goals. They explained the entire process clearly, walked me through the permitting steps, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and left my home cleaner than they found it. The panel upgrade was done seamlessly and to code, and the EV charger install is clean, fast-charging, and rock-solid reliable. I now have full confidence in my home’s electrical system and know my truck is charging safely and efficiently every night. If you’re in the market for a"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

It might seem counterintuitive, but installing a generator transfer switch will save you money in the long run. While you’ll have to pay between $400 and $2,500 to have the transfer switch installed, you’ll recoup that amount later on when you don’t have to pay for expensive repairs to your appliances, devices, and electrical system that may have burned out, overloaded, or stopped working due to a sudden loss of power or an incorrect hook up of a generator to your home

A home that is 2,500 square feet will likely need a 20kW to 25kW generator. Consult your local generator installer to confirm the generator size needed to power your home before purchasing a new one. Be sure to consider how much power your necessary devices need to run.

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

You can expect a diesel generator to last for up to 30,000 hours of use, which works out to 20 to 25 years with the proper maintenance, of course. That depends on how much you use it, so a diesel generator used for emergencies a couple of times a year will last a lot longer than a generator that takes over for a faulty electrical grid every month for a day or two.

Homeowners can often access federal tax credits, such as the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which covers a percentage of installation costs. Many states and utilities offer additional rebates, grants, or performance-based incentives. These programs can significantly lower your upfront investment. Check the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) or contact your local energy office for current offers.
