"The project went very well. The crew arrived ahead of schedule and went right to work preparing the area with protective tarps and ground cover. There are many flower gardens around the house and they made sure they were protected. The roof was stripped and all trash was thrown into a trash receptacle. Once the roof was stripped, the crew began reroofing. The entire house was reroofed by mid afternoon. I was very satisfied with the crew and the quality of the work performed. I would Extreme Exteriors for any home improvement project. I would give them a A Plus rating."

"

It went pretty smoothly. Looks like really physically demanding work, so they are mostly pretty young rugged rough on the edges-type guys. They were polite, on time, respectful.   Chris was the foreman in charge so i had contact with him mostly and the other guys were pretty quiet and did their work. They cleaned up after themselves, were aware when i was outside and made sure not to throw things down on top of me or any other workers on site. Careful and responsive.  Took a brief lunch break and then back on the job. They only removed parts of the roof at a time so that, when it looked like rain was coming, they covered everything up and sat in their cars and waited for the rain to pass. I now understand that the weather dictates their schedule, so if your job is delayed a day or two, its unavoidable.

The dumpster and materials arrived a day or two in advanced and needed to be placed near the roof so they could throw materials directly into it from the roof.  The job was supposed to be completed in one day on Friday but, because of the rain, they worked Saturday also. They were great in communicating everything to me and answered all my questions with clear explainations. I felt like I was their #1 priority

I paid $2800 i think just for the insulation and equipment and labor to blow it into the attic. Home Inspector (I just bought an old house (1941) report told me there was very little insulation, so I thought it prudent to install more for a house in Michigan. In regards to pricing, i was not able to price compare, so I don't know how this company rates in that category

They did not vent the proper bathroom shower - apparently i had two, not one, improperly vented. i didnt know this until the job was completed. I'm waiting to hear from the boss on how we can remedy the situation.

"I found Rock Solid Exteriors after searching Google for window companies in my area. Our windows were really old and broken. Mike came out to our house the same week. He was able to educate us on the different options and we found solutions that helped us stay within budget. He also was able to sign us up for financing, which was great with the holiday season fast approaching. We love our new windows and had a great experience with the company. Katie in their production department walked us through every step of the way. And the guy who installed the windows was awesome, high energy and polite. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for window replacements."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

It improves energy efficiency, reduces noise, enhances indoor comfort, and prevents drafts by filling wall cavities.

While insulation is required for all exterior walls in a house, it is not typically required for interior walls. Local and state building codes mandate that new construction homes have adequate insulation in exterior walls and ceilings to suit the local climate.

However, there are several benefits to adding insulation to interior walls. It is excellent for sound-dampening between rooms and can help with temperature control by maintaining a regulated temperature in specific rooms and lowering heat transfer between adjacent areas. Insulating interior walls can also contribute to the overall energy efficiency of your home.

The most obvious con of injection foam is the cost. It’s much more expensive to install than fiberglass or spray foam, but it may be your only option (unless you want to remove entire walls around the home). Another con is that it involves drilling into existing material, which has to be repaired after the foam is injected. Some injection foams are made from products that aren’t environmentally friendly, and improper installation can lead to trapped moisture, which can lead to expensive mold remediation down the road.

When installing metal siding, a high-quality house wrap is considered the best protection against condensation and moisture infiltration. House wraps can increase a home's efficiency significantly. However, a house wrap is not a replacement for a vapor barrier because it can be permeable when moist air passes through siding. This is why it's essential to follow manufacturer instructions for insulating siding when installing new siding.

The best type of insulation for your home depends on your specific needs, climate, and the area you are insulating. For new construction, structural insulated panels are a highly energy-efficient option that is easy to install during the building process. In very warm climates, reflective insulation can be a cost-effective choice. For cold climates, fiberglass is an excellent option due to its high R-value and resistance to settling over time. Spray foam works well in humid environments because of its moisture-resistant properties. For standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation are all suitable options.
