We were told to that they would be out to install new cedar base boards and cleanup the the dust and dirty walls. They damaged walls during the installation process. They stated thsat they would be out on Sepytember 30, 2020 and they called to move the appointment to October 13, 2020. On the day of the apointment they called to canel the appointment and offered $700 to pay for the repairs and cleanup. The total bill to cleanup was more than $6,000. I would not recommend this company because they renig on their promices and do not complete the work."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

With regular servicing and general upkeep, both a well pump and pressure tank can last for years. The average lifespan of a well pump is around eight to 15 years. A well pressure tank can last from seven to 10 years. How long a well pump and pressure tank lasts also depends on a variety of factors such as type, size, material, and brand.

Some states and municipalities restrict well pump repair and replacement to licensed plumbers and technicians, while others don’t have requirements. However, it’s always a good idea to hire a certified plumber to repair or replace well pumps and water pumps. Certified professionals are far more likely to get the job done correctly and prevent future issues, which is especially important for ensuring access to clean water for your home.

If your well water supply suddenly runs dry, it could be due to a faulty pressure switch. A bad pressure switch can affect the pump's operation, leading to a loss of water. Testing the switch to see if it functions correctly is the first step in resolving the issue and restoring your water supply.

If the switch is faulty, it may need to be repaired or replaced. If the issue is more complex and involves other components, consult a professional well technician so they can address the issue and fix the water supply.

The disadvantages of having a well include more maintenance, like annual testing and inspections, and high up-front costs to drill a well. Well water is also vulnerable to contamination, which is why keeping up with testing is important if you own a well. When it comes to well water versus city water, well water does offer more independence and is a reliable water source.

Wells vary widely when it comes to lifespan, and there isn’t a way to exactly predict how long a well may last. Some wells can last well beyond 100 years, but they more commonly last between 25 and 50 years. Performing regular maintenance, such as replacing worn valves, can help prolong the life of your well.
