"The electrician, Frank, was polite, professional and finished the work in an hour. The only reason that I rated the price with a C is that I purchased the service for two hours (since that was offered) and I had no clue how long this would take. I don't know what hourly rates for electricians are, it may very well be a good deal and  I may be way out of touch where prices are concerned.

"The job went very well. I was called when the fellows were on their way to my home and they arrived at the estimated time I had arranged in my phone call to make the appointment. The fellows went right to work and completed the job in a short time. They were friendly, yet professional, and wanted to make sure that the light worked and I was satisfied before they left. A few days later I received a Thank You card in the mail, along with a card for 10% off labor on the next job I call for."

"Jacob did a fantastic job! He was professional and was able to help us. We just bought the house and it needed a lot of electrical work. Jacob was patient with us as we were learning, told us what we would need and installed it in good time. Will hire again!"

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

Upgrading your electrical system can save you money on your monthly utility bills by powering your home more efficiently. Electrification nonprofit Rewiring America estimates that a household could save $1,800 per year on energy bills by upgrading to a modern electric heat pump, switching to a heat pump for their water, installing solar panels on the roof, and converting to an electric vehicle.

Local electricians with experience in your area understand the local building codes, which is very important when doing new electrical work. They also have experience with the kind of electrical problems homes in your location may have, and even the components that were used in the original construction, which leads them to make faster and better decisions.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.
