"They do exceptional work. They built a ramp off of my deck. Also critter-proofed my shed. They did exactly what was written in the contract, showed up when they said they would and finished the job in a timely manner. High quality work."

"Radz restoration was amazing to work with. I had my kitchen flood which everyone knows can be traumatizing. They came and removed all the water and took care of the dry out for me! Not only did they do that but they remolded my kitchen as well and it turned out super good! I highly recommend them to everyone I talk to! The best part about it all is the owner is a veteran !"

"Prompt, courteous, explained in advance what they would do and they did it. Our first experience with them was when they climbed up on our roof in a rainstorm to fix the leaking roof. They needed to construct a roof drainage cricket which we greatly appreciated them doing in the rainstorm. Next, they replaced 4 rotting posts that were holding up our 2-story porch deck, replaced some rotting porch deck frame joists, and all the decking on the same porch. When replacing the rotting posts, they poured concrete piers for the posts to rest on above ground, rather than just sinking them into the ground as had been done for the initial rotted posts. Finally, they replaced one exterior door and also a very heavy double French door. They always hauled away the debris and were very friendly and knowledgeable. UPDATE 8/2/2021: Scott and his son Brian have done outstanding work at our home this year! Our first experience with them was when they climbed up to our roof in a rainstorm to fix the leaking roof. They needed to construct a roof drainage cricket which we greatly appreciated them doing in the rainstorm. Next, they replaced 4 rotting posts that were holding up our 2nd story porch deck, replaced some rotting porch deck frame joists, and all the decking on the same porch deck. Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

There are a few advantages to hiring a handyperson as a contractor, namely that they will likely charge less for their services since they don’t have as much overhead. A handyperson might also have more flexibility and be more involved in your specific home project, so you can communicate with one person instead of a subcontractor team.

Before hiring a handyperson, it's important to ask several questions to ensure they are the right fit for the job. Key areas to cover include their experience, logistics, and job specifics.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • What kind of work do you specialize in?

  • How long have you been doing this kind of work?

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you have references?

  • Can you provide before-and-after photos of your work?

Estimates and Contracts:

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Will you provide a written estimate and contract?

  • Does the estimate cover both labor and materials?

  • How much do you expect materials to cost?

Project Details and Guarantees:

  • When can you start the job, and how long do you expect it to take?

  • Do you provide a guarantee for your work?

  • Will you handle cleanup and waste disposal after the job is finished?

  • Do you have any questions about the projects on my list?

Whether a scullery is worth it depends on how much you like to cook and entertain. If you frequently host gatherings—a scullery is likely worth the money. If you’re looking for ROI, it’s not so clear. It may not add significant value to your home, as it doesn’t increase square footage and may repurpose space that a buyer would have preferred to remain as-is (like a laundry room).

Reviewing your contract for termination terms is best when ending a relationship with a contractor. If there is nothing in the contract or you had a verbal agreement, communicate your decision in writing, citing specific reasons. Afterward, pay for the completed work per your original agreement. Remember you want a record of all correspondence in case you need a lawyer later to settle disputes.

Most contractors do not charge for meetings, but it can depend on the project, mainly if it includes detailed consultations or project planning. For general estimates, homeowners shouldn't expect to be charged. Always ask up front about meeting fees to avoid surprises and ensure you know what’s included in the process.
