"The flooring was installed in a timely fashion, and the installer were very professionally. I'm very satisfied with the product and the installation. I didn't get a Bathroom remodel, but I couldn't close the page w/o picking one of those options."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"It went very well from beginning to end.  I got a very quick response from them and an accurate quote.  Very professional.  The guys who actually did the tile work, Jake Swinehart and Torrey Clark were very good at their work and took the time to do everything right."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

The decision between wainscoting and shiplap for your bathroom will depend on the end result you’re looking for. Shiplap covers the entire wall and can be used on ceilings. Wainscoting is installed on the lower third of the wall and acts as an accent. One major consideration is that shiplap has rabbets that create space between the boards where moisture and dust can hide. Since bathrooms are a high-moisture environment, you may want to opt for wainscotting.

In general, the term powder room refers to the same thing as the term half bath and describes a bathroom with a toilet and a sink. Usually, the official term used in real estate listings is a powder room, but the two terms are interchangeable.

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

There are a few things you can do to keep your bathroom remodel as affordable as possible in your mobile home:

  • Ask your contractor to replace caulk and grout rather than retiling

  • Ask your professional to refinish your tub/shower rather than replacing

  • Upgrade your sink fixtures rather than replacing the sink

  • Upgrade cabinet hardware and ask your remodeler to refinish the cabinets

  • Avoid changing the layout of your bathroom

Consider anti-scald features, therapeutic jets, and easy-to-reach controls for tailored comfort and accessibility accommodations.
