"We called Jay when our A/C stopped working last spring. He was quick to take a look at our existing unit and give us options for repair or replacement. We chose to replace due to the age of the Air Conditioner. We were able to choose from a variety of brands, and had one installed within a week. We felt he was fairly priced and very knowledgeable, and best of all - we stayed cool all Summer!"

"Ethan and team did a great job on swapping out an old boiler system and install new furnace and AC. City inspector even said his work is great. Communication was great throughout the process. Will hire again in the future"

"It’s hard to find someone as reliable as Arbios these days! Our HVAC system went down, and he came to the rescue on a Sunday, which I really appreciated. He quickly diagnosed the issue, got everything up and running, and explained everything in a way that made sense. Thanks to his expertise and fast response, my family didn’t have to deal with an uncomfortable home for long. Arbios is the go-to HVAC professional you can trust—highly recommend!"

"We were very impressed with A & C Heating and Cooling. Their online scheduling tool was convenient, user friendly, and there was a variety of time slots available. The appointment follow up, reminders and arrival tracking map were timely and helpful. Our technician, McKinley, was amazing!!! He was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. He diagnosed the problem quickly, installed the needed part, and ran tests to ensure the unit was running at peak performance. He educated us about our unit by explaining how it operates, what caused the problem, and how the replacement part would remedy the problem. We are VERY satisfied with their service. We give this company and our technician our highest rating, and we would highly recommend them to anyone in need of quality heating and cooling installation or service. ."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

There are several common types of HVAC systems that you may have, including split systems, hybrid HVAC, duct-free systems, packaged heating and air, geothermal heating, or even portable units for heating or cooling. If you aren’t sure which type is in your home or are looking to install something different, you should consult an HVAC pro to determine which option is right for your heating and cooling needs.

Yes. Your air supply should be balanced. The return and supply ducts need to maintain that balance, and this only occurs because an equal amount of air should be entering and leaving your HVAC system. Changes in pressure, extreme weather, and blocking vents with furniture or your stuff can make the air supply unbalanced and cause your home to get too cold or hot.

Yes. Getting a whole-house dehumidifier can help you save money on energy bills. How? Your home automatically feels cooler when there’s less humidity in the air (“It’s the humidity that gets ya!” is such a true statement). This means that you won’t need to run your AC as much as you would if you had all that extra humidity in your home.

No, for two very important reasons. First, it’s illegal to release refrigerant into the air or ground since it can be toxic and cause environmental damage. Technicians typically pump old or extra refrigerant into separate tanks for special disposal. Second, without professional equipment to read refrigerant pressure and levels, plus the AC’s suggested requirements, it’s impossible to know if you’ve removed the right amount of refrigerant. Stay away from a DIY solution here and seek an expert with the right tools.

Your AC might not cool after a power outage because of a tripped circuit breaker, blown fuse, or damage to the compressor or capacitor. If you notice your AC not working after a power outage, in most cases, the breaker has tripped or the system has built-in brownout and blackout protection. Reboot the AC by turning it off at the thermostat, resetting the circuit breaker, and waiting 30 minutes to turn the AC on again.
