"The associate (Justin) was on time and was very personable. He did a good job on much of the carpet but there were a couple of stains left. To be fair, the carpet was very dirty and he did get several stains out, but as it dried a couple of the stains did come back. It looked very good when it was still wet and he left. It was only the next day that I saw some stains reappearing. I was surprised at how quickly he finished the job. There was no follow up call to check on my satisfaction."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.

Maintenance includes regular cleaning with appropriate products, periodic sealing to protect against staining and wear, and addressing minor issues before they escalate.

The cost to polish floors averages around $200 per room, but you could pay anywhere from $100 to $300. Some factors that influence the total cost of floor polishing include the following:

  • Square footage of flooring

  • Type of floor

  • Whether you need floor repairs done beforehand

  • Whether or not you want professional floor cleaning done beforehand

Since square footage is the most significant cost factor, you might get a more accurate estimate by using the average cost per square foot for floor polishing, which is between $1.00 and $2.50.

Depending on flooring type and condition, costs range from $0.25 to $2 per square foot.

While every professional home cleaner will have their own preference, most will use a commercial floor cleaner specifically manufactured for laminate floors. They will also use a vacuum or microfiber cloth to remove loose grit before breaking out the mop. Some cleaners will also make a final pass with a dry and clean cloth to dry your laminate floors for a smooth shine.
