Customers say: Quick response

"John was great to work with to have my front exterior and storm doors replaced. He responded quickly when I reached out for an estimate and he was able to meet me within a couple days to review the project. He made it easy to shop for the necessary materials so I could pick out the doors and get other supplies in one trip. The project was completed in a timely manner despite the rain and an issue with one of the materials (bad/old product from hardware store) I had picked up. John was very courteous and professional throughout the whole process. In the end, he did a quality install and cleaned up the work site. I'm very happy with the results."

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

DIY staining or painting is manageable with proper preparation, including safety measures, necessary tools, and adherence to safe weather conditions for application.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.
