"We recently had our outside deck completely replaced, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Sonny was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. He helped guide us through choosing the right decking materials without trying to push the most expensive options, which we really appreciated. The crew tore down and removed the old deck efficiently and did an excellent job cleaning up afterward each day. Communication throughout the project was timely and clear, so we always knew what to expect. Best of all, they completed the project earlier than originally estimated without sacrificing quality. The finished deck looks amazing, and we couldn’t be happier with the workmanship and overall experience. Highly recommend DizzlePro to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and high-quality deck work!"

"the work quality should be a 5 not 4.5. exceptional work ethic, meticulous work, cleanup superb and took pictures to send to insurance company. came the day before to shovel snow off the roof in the area to be repaired. as a home improvement contractor myself, I would hire them for my own company. not to mention polite and willing to do just what I wanted after having three other attempts to fix the problem. the best."

"Dan and crew gave me a price to repair my 36 foot deck that fell off my house due to big ice block coming from roof. Dans price was considerably less than the 2 fancy high priced guys. No lack in quality. Dan found my deck collapsed because it was not flashed and nails were used instead of lag bolts. My deck looks better than before and much safer"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Deck stairs should have at least three stringers rather than two. The recommended minimum width for stairs is 36 inches, and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors recommends at least three cut stringers to provide sufficient support on wood decking stairs of this width. Generally, stringers should be a maximum of 16 inches apart for wood decking and 12 inches apart for more flexible composite decking.

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.

While eco-friendly decking, also called composite decking, is a win for the environment because it consists of recycled materials, it has trade-offs. These sustainable options often come with steeper price tags, lack natural wood's warm look, and can become uncomfortably hot under full sun. Some composite materials can also become slick when wet, posing a potential hazard.

You can build an outdoor kitchen on a deck, but you should choose composite decking since it's more heat-resistant. Metal deck materials like steel and aluminum are also good choices because they're less flammable than wood. You should also consider the weight of the kitchen—make sure your deck can support it and any appliances you plan to use. You should consult a structural engineer to confirm exactly how much weight your deck can safely support when building an outdoor kitchen.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.
