"They were skillful and very professional, and certainly know their business. The crew was very careful about our buildings and power lines and solved some extremely worrisome tree problems for us. Their cost was a little high, but I guess that's what you have to pay for good technology and safe, skillful, energetic work!"

"Matt Barrett was recommended to remove two trees in my yard with Browntail Moth Infestations, before the moths emerged from their webs and began eating and growing. It was April and there were no leaves so we could see hundreds of larvae in each web, Matt climbed the first tree with harness and ropes to try to remove the nests but the branch he was standing on broke and he fell to the second one which also broke. He climed down and together we made the decision to cut both trees down and remove the nests when on the ground. The trees droped exactly where he planned. The third tree was uprooted with the top 1/2 lying in the water. Using the same technology with different colored cords Matt pulled that tree out. All three trees were checked for Moth activity and chipped to flatten another area near by. He charged below the online State of ME rate."

"Jarrod took down a very large 150 plus yr old pine tree that towered above the roof of our house! He is a pro for sure. He dropped it right where it needed to go and made it look way too easy! I recommend him highly for any tree service. His price is more than fair for his experience and skill."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In most cases, your neighbor is responsible for roots from their tree that cause damage to your property. If your pavement, the foundation of your home, or a fence is damaged by roots from a neighbor’s tree, you likely will have legal recourse for financial relief. While it’s better to notify your neighbor of any problems you notice as soon as they arise to avoid costly damage, there are some instances where filing a civil suit is your only recourse. Your homeowner’s insurance company might wish to do so on your behalf if you file a claim.

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.

Yes, forestry mulching can grind stumps, but the level of effectiveness depends on the equipment used. Drum mulchers can break down smaller stumps, but larger or deep-rooted stumps may require a dedicated stump grinder for complete removal. If full stump removal is necessary for replanting or construction, additional excavation may be needed. Always check with your forestry mulching provider to confirm whether they offer stump grinding and if their equipment is suitable for your specific needs.

Using Epsom salt to kill a tree stump typically takes between six and 12 months. While this may seem like a long time, it is significantly faster than the natural decomposition process, which can take up to seven years. This method is a viable DIY option for stumps that do not pose an immediate hazard. If you need a faster solution, you can hire a professional for stump removal or grinding, though this may cause more damage to the surrounding ground.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.
