"They were skillful and very professional, and certainly know their business. The crew was very careful about our buildings and power lines and solved some extremely worrisome tree problems for us. Their cost was a little high, but I guess that's what you have to pay for good technology and safe, skillful, energetic work!"

"Matt did a great job. We had several very large trees that needed to be removed from the woods around our home. Some were dead and some had begun to block our solar panels. Matt is a knowledgeable and experienced arborist and very safely and carefully laid the trees down exactly where he planned them to. Debris was gathered up and taken away. The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

DIY is risky and not recommended for large trees; professional services ensure safe removal and proper disposal.

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large. 

Monitor the fire closely to ensure it doesn’t spread, and have a hose on hand if it starts to get out of control. When the fire is out, break apart the burned stump and dig out what’s left of it.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.
