"First let me start withâ ¦I know all of the tradesmen and women are BUSY! Thereâ s never not a need. I respect that. I also value my own time and money. Being a homeowner is stressful and when something goes wrong, you need support and someone you trust that can help you. Iâ m a single mom and I work hard for all that I have. When I began to have a major plumbing issue, I was stressed!!! My home was built in 1900. It has a single pipe drain system to the city sewer. It became clogged (very slow moving) and guess what began slowly backing up into my basement?! You guessed it! Everything being flushed from my home. 𠤢 I called SIX plumbers. Within minutes received a call back. By the end of the conversation, they would be here this afternoon!!!! What?! No way?! Today?! And guess what else??? They showed up, when they said they would. So informative. So kind. So professional. My stress and anxiety are gone and I can breathe easy again. Listen, owning a home is expensive but Iâ m more than happy to spend my money on quality, professionalism, and a company I can count on! "Kevin called me the same day I posted the pro request. I scheduled him to come by to do a quote two days later and hired him at that point. Kevin replaced a scary exterior electrical outlet and power cord that powers a pool pump. The power cord was coming out of the ground and arcing and the old outlet was melted around a socket. Not good. Kevin fixed it right up and replaced and greatly improved the whole set up, including installing an exterior outlet and switch that are both protected by the weather. Very impressed and will hire Kevin again."

He was on time, communicated clearly, and was tidy with his work. Since I was at work while he was installing the new sump pump and drain line, he kept me in the loop about his progress. He had a detailed estimate that he stuck to, and he even deducted the cost of some PVC when he realized he didn't need as much as he initially planned. I would recommend him to anyone needing work in their basement."

"We had water damage due to a leak in our roof. We contacted Octagon because of their glowing reports on Angie's List. I cannot say enough about the company. Jessica, the coordinator, was very professional and excellent at keeping me informed on who was coming and when. She assigned the project to Heather, one of the project managers. We were extremely pleased with Heather. She was incredibly professional and very well educated in water damage mitigation and mold remediation. She called to let me know when she was coming, arrived on time, inspected the damage, immediately knew we had a mold problem and began the work to remove the molded areas and installed a HEPA filter to clean out any spores floating around as a result of the work being done. She communicated in detail everything regarding the job -- what she saw, how she was going to fix it, etc.. etc.She even crawled up into our attic to see if there was any damage above the ceiling -- truly above and beyond. As this was an insurance claim, she worked with State Farm to ensure that everything that needed to be done for our benefit was discussed with and agreed to by our claims adjustor. I cannot say enough about both Heather and Octagon. Heather explained that the owner of the company hired professionals and everyone was expected to have at least one certification in one of the areas that Octagon provided service in. It was evident by my experience with all their employees that they hired and retained the best. I would most definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"The Bog Hill team was tremendously professional, responsive and knowledgeable. They quickly removed our old farmhouse porch, which had become a safety hazard, and replaced it with a beautiful landing and staircase. They also took the time to repair issues from previous work done by another carpenter who had not finished and took care of all of the final touches, such as installing new light fixtures over the porch, putting up new gutters, and finding a PERFECT paint match for the replaced siding. The entire team was courteous and flexible, keeping in mind that we have toddlers and dogs. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of home repairs, upgrades, or any other projects.
