"Prompt response… very professional! I have been without a sink for two weeks, called a few companies and no follow up.. Tejadas was able to fit me in right away.. they were at my home on time and did a great job cutting my granite countertop and positioned my sink to get installed by the plumber… I would definitely hire them again for any future jobs"

"Harvey and his team were professional and courteous. My wife and I were very satisfied with the completed work on the interior. We had originally planned on doing the exterior of the house first but had to change our plans. Harvey was accommodating and offered suggestions. Some I took, some I didn't. We are already discussing the projects for this coming summer. He doesn't know it but I have a couple new ideas I may implement. I have no doubt that they will do as an outstanding job on the exterior as they did inside. It looks like a new home."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

For indoor plumbing in ME, PEX tubing is the best choice because it resists freezing and handles extreme temperature changes well. Use standard PVC for interior drain systems. Because of the extreme cold, standard foam insulation is insufficient for exterior walls. You must combine heat tape with heavy insulation to protect vulnerable pipes. Always use strictly lead-free solder and fittings for any potable water connections.

Helpful?

Treat any active pipe freezing, winter supply leaks, or sewage backups as immediate emergencies in Millinocket. A compromised main shutoff valve also requires urgent repair to prevent severe water damage. You can delay minor fixture updates or slow drains, but you must complete all exterior plumbing between May and September. Schedule aging water heater replacements before October to avoid complete failures during the deep winter.

Helpful?

A frequent mistake during plumbing in Millinocket is underestimating the extreme frost line. You must bury water supply lines at least four to five feet deep to prevent freezing. Homeowners also skip required permits or use open flames to thaw frozen pipes, which creates a severe fire hazard. Always assess aging cast iron or galvanized pipes fully before starting work to avoid cascading leaks and dangerous lead exposure.

Helpful?

After finishing plumbing in Millinocket, immediately schedule your required final inspection with the town. Flush your lines thoroughly and test for lead, especially in older homes with older copper pipes. Inspect all new pipe insulation before the first hard freeze in October. Finally, monitor newly buried underground lines during the spring thaw for signs of shifting or leaks caused by severe frost heave.

Helpful?

Completing plumbing in ME takes longer due to a limited local contractor pool. Minor repairs take one to two days of active work, while major installations require one to two weeks. Scheduling adds significant time, especially during the busy spring thaw. Winter weather halts outdoor work entirely from December through March. Always account for extra days to schedule mandatory local inspections before finalizing your project.
