"The project was lightning rod installation. The work was custom fitted, very responsive to the owner's requests . The contractor was very helpful with suggestions and implementation of best practices. The contractor was brave & effective at considerable elevation (45-50 feet) above ground level. The end result was aesthetically attractive and the contractor was super amiable; his crew appeared to be dedicated."

"Readers should ignore my ratings on work quality and value for the money as the software would not allow me to skip. The technician arrived on time, was informative and professional. He was intent on helping me to get the best results from my system as a new user of this type of unit. I'm not qualified to rate the work quality. It seemed expensive to me, but it's my first experience with a natural gas/air conditioning combination system, so I have no frame of reference. I will use this company again after checking competitive prices."

"1. Repaired and renovated, garage and 2nd story screen porch facades, including replacement of joists, plywood, and careful waterproofing/sealing of walls, windows and trims. 2. Built awning/roof above garage door to include copper roof detail. 3. Remodeled interior screen porch wall with wainscoting and baseboard to create a more custom look. Experience: Kevin and his team were proactive in determining root cause of repair and next steps. Kevin was also responsive through chat/ phone when I had questions. Crew were always on time and reliable. Albert, lead carpenter, was very skilled at ensuring structure/repairs were done properly."

"The project isn't quite finished so I will reserve comment until it is. This is an attic room(s) addition with multiple crafts. the next step is sheet rock and then the electricians will return to fish the wiring"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

No, space planning is not only relevant for new spaces. With the help of a professional architect, you can still create a space plan for an existing space.

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

Aging-in-place universal design features can make your home more comfortable for family members who are older or have disabilities; they can also make your home safer. In addition, adding a universal-design bathroom can boost your home’s overall resale value.

When conducting space planning, building codes and regulations need to be considered. As long as you are taking them into account and discussing them with the architect, you should be able to do your space planning appropriately.
