"May 10, 2022 Clear Choice We schedule the installing of the roof on May 6, 2022. The supplies and dumpster were delivered May 5. The crews of 8 show up at 7 AM on the May 6. They started right away by lay tarps completely around the house. They had the roof stripped by 8:15. They found the porch eaves had some minor water damage. This causes a little delay until the plywood arrived for repair of the porch roof. That did not stop the crews from working on the rest of the roof. They clean up the old shingles. After the porch roof was repair they shingle the rest of the roof. Finish cleaned up the old shingles and folded up the tarps. They went around with a magnetic roller to pick up any nails left behind. They left around 1:15 PM job completed. This is a very professional crews and work very hard. â GREAT JOBâ With the Clear Choice supervisor we did a walk around. Sum minor damage to the flowers but that was expected. I am completely satisfied with the workmanship and the company. I would highly remind Clear Choice for a roof replacement."

"This company is beyond expectations. 10 years ago, while living in Massachusetts, we hired a local roofer that was recommended. We definitely didn’t do our due diligence. Our metal roof was an embarrassment to anyone working in the trades. Big companies would only give us quotes for a replacement roof. Always Roofing LLC assessed our roof and agreed that the original installation was substandard. The owner was very professional, hard working and repaired our roof. We appreciate his knowledge and dedication to excellence."

"Excellent communication all through the project. Scope of the work was explained in great detail, followed up with a written contract. Crew arrived early, husseled all day, completed the roofing, cleaned up all the debris and disposed of it — all in one day. I highly recommend them."

"It was easy to communicate with Manny, and his emergency repair to my leaky happened so quickly, even for the end of November. He sent pictures of the roof hours after I first contacted CL Exteriors, I was quite surprised! I am recommending his business for repair of the entire roof and also the roof replacement of the other 2 buildings in our condo association. He promptly checked them out and sent estimates for the association to review. I am very impressed with CL Exteriors."

"This is an updated review from my original as some additional work was done & the homeadvisor site would not let me update my previous post. The overall quality of work from PIC Home Pros seems good for the roof work itself. The reason for the rating was primarily due to the customer service experience. It was very difficult to get a firm schedule. I know things happen and schedules need to change, but there was little proactive communication on their part, and getting the work scheduled required many phone calls or emails. The roof was one of three parts of the work I had done by PIC. My estimate said I was to pay 1/3 at time of signing a contract, 1/3 at time of work starting, and the final 1/3 when work was complete. The day after the roof was done (but not the remainder of the work) I was told I had to pay in full or I would not get my roof warranty. Some of the additional work was not of the best quality. Soffit vents that were installed fell out in less than 24hours (they were fixed within a day, but still was not right the first time). It took over a week & several emails to get leftover materials removed from my driveway. I am not sure what I should have expected from the clean up after the roof work, but I found several nails and a lot of plastic trash around my yard. The final part of my project involved installation of a vent/fan. The ductwork was fine, but the electrical wiring was done incorrectly (two wires were actually left bare and not connected to anything). I fixed that issue myself (PIC did apologize and issue a credit towards my bill). The salesperson I dealt with was very helpful, but the overall service level was not where I would have expected given the reviews I had seen. I will say that the roof itself does seem to be of very good quality. I do not have my warranty as of yet, but I have had several calls from PIC reiterating that they stand behind their work (this was the best service I got, but it was after several issues/delays had already occurred). I have used homeadvisors for several projects and this is really the only one I have not been completely satisfied with."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Roofing estimates vary for many reasons, but the most significant ones include differences in the cost of labor based on the contractor’s experience and overhead costs, as well as the quality of the materials your roofer will use for the job. You should get your estimates itemized and make sure your contractors include details about the materials they plan on using. Doing so allows you to compare not only based on the cost but also the value that you’ll get for your money.

In some cases, yes, you can put a second roof layer over architectural shingles, but it depends on your home’s structural stability and the local building codes where you live. Architectural shingles are thicker and heavier than standard asphalt shingles, so you may need structural reinforcement or a structural engineer’s inspection before proceeding. Additionally, some building departments don’t allow for two roof layers, regardless of the roof type. You should ask a professional if ripping the old roof off before installing the new one is the best option for you.

The easiest type of roof to build is a shed-style or lean-to roof, which features a single sloping plane from one side of the building to the other. Unlike a gable roof with two sides meeting in the middle, a shed roof's single slope makes the construction process more straightforward. The rafters are typically single pieces of wood that span the distance, often without the need for additional supports.

You can secure roof decorations like inflatables and other Christmas decor by tying a rope or attacking bungee cords to your roof clips. Depending on the pitch of your roof, you can use sandbags for extra support. Like with Christmas lights, avoid using staples or duct tape.

In most cases, no, roofers won’t need to come inside. Some reasons roofers may need to come inside are to assess ventilation. inspect roof leaks, or check for any structural concerns.
