"Beautiful looks like new! Company is very professional and he even showed up early. Job was done within the time frame given. Less then an hour and all the green mold was gone. My home is 3 stories and was cleaned from top to bottom. So happy with the service and we are going to make it a yearly part of our homes maintenance. Prices are very reasonable too."

"Full Service Construction was beyond exceptional in every aspect. We received a response from them within hours of our request. They met us at our convenience at our vacation home in Maine, as we live in RI. Once the quote from them was accepted, the work was done in a timely fashion, and done very well. High quality work, very fair price, pleasant and easy to work with. Whole heartedly recommended. Joseph Reynolds 401-732-5128"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Several options for hanging Christmas lights won't damage gutters. Using shingle clips avoids any hardware contact with them, and using plastic gutter clips minimizes the likelihood of scratching gutters. Remember not to rest a ladder, especially a metal one, against the gutters, and use a ladder stand-off device or stabilizer if you need to use an extension ladder.

It's safe to hang Christmas lights from gutters with a few considerations. First, when installing the lights, follow safe ladder-use guidelines and avoid getting onto the roof. Second, for best results and the integrity of your lights, use clips to keep the bulbs away from inside the gutters where they could run into trouble with water or ice.

Professional holiday decorators are used to working with homeowners with varying needs, so the services can include nearly anything related to holiday decorations. Some services you might want to consider include the following:

  • Exterior light hanging

  • Other exterior decorations

  • Exterior tree decorating

  • Interior tree design and decorating

  • Removing holiday decorations at the end of the season

  • Packaging decorations after removal

  • Holiday decoration storage

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

In the Christmas days of yore, people braved winter weather to staple or tack their Christmas lights onto their rooftops or nearby surfaces like the fascia boards. Problems quickly emerged with that approach. Damage to the roof, even small marks from staples, provides entryways for moisture and similar issues that can hasten roof rot, wear, and associated leaks. Plus, some homes had tough fiber cement boards or other materials where staples and screws didn’t work.
