Also I accidentally overpaid him and are still waiting for the refund."

For stone countertops, use a sealant specially manufactured for your type of stone and apply it according to manufacturer directions. 

Original Gorilla Glue is not a good choice for laminate countertops. It is not a contact cement, which is the best choice for this material, and it does not explicitly state that it should be used on laminate. Perhaps the best reason to avoid using Gorilla Glue on laminate is that it expands three times its original size, which could lead to your laminate being pushed away from the countertops.

Not usually. Laminates are made from plastic materials, traditionally melamine, so they don’t offer any eco-friendly or green benefits. Melamine itself is infamous for its toxic composition and outgassing over time, so if you’re looking for a green counter option, it’s best to avoid laminates.
