"Mike was able to fit me in the same day for an estimate which surprised me because I'm sure a lot of people are needing his services with all the rain lately but he was in the area that day and came by. Although the company is a nation wide chain, its a franchise and a small business. He is an honest Vermonter with Vermont values which I appreciate. He gave me options but didn't try to talk me into something I couldn't afford and is doing the work within two weeks which I was also happy about being a very busy time for this type of thing."

"We are in the second day of this project. Bryan had to hire another person to work with him as his regular employee is recuperating from an emergency situation so the work will take longer than expected. My husband says he's doing a good job ,as the work is in our vacation home in NH and I am in MA. Brian will try to have the wall finished by Thursday but will have to come back one day next week for the remaining seepage part of the job."

"Mike did a great job fixing my chimney and replacing some of the bricks. He also waterproofed the whole thing. While he was up there he noticed a crack in the inside liner. He fixed that also. He showed me all the work before and after using a drone. Did a great job and didn’t have to wait long to get it done. He also fixed all the caps on my stone wall that had come loose. Everything looks great. May have a leak in the roof and if so will certainly hire him again."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.
