I was satisfied. I thought they did a great job. They definitely cleaned up after themselves and gave us heads up when they were going through each room. The project manager was very helpful. He took care of whatever complaints or things that needed to be addressed. He made sure it was done.

They showed up promptly and on schedule. The work was professionally done and I am happy with the results. There were a few communication gaps regarding the scope of the project, but they were worked out. Overall I am please with this company.

Have recommended them repeatedly. Estimates usually on the low side...but there are always changes as work progresses, so that is to be expected. Very helpful, picked things i had ordered up. Reliable and trustworthy.

It went very well. They did what they said and everything was fine. They were neat and clean. I would highly recommend them

Steve is extremely courteous and was responsive and willing. However, the quality of the work just didn't do.
The window sill replacement looks fine, although we agreed to composite instead of wood and it looks like wood to me. I can't verify that so I'm letting it be.
The shed roof seemed fine, but now a year later it is bowed...so clearly either moisture is getting in, or there is a weight issue. The shed had a lot of rot, according to his photos, and the price went up accordingly. He was fair with pricing: no problem there. But I don't know whether the quality of the roofing work is going to hold over the years.
The exterior door threshold had moderate rot and we agreed he would replace it: threshold, door frame and the studs behind the door frame. His boys simply didn't do what we agreed to. A second visit, and a little more was done, but still not satisfactorily. The third call was made (I'm often out of the country and so can't always see results right away)...they never actually came. We had totally dropped it, because asking someone to return over and over is not worth the trouble.
To his credit, he found the undone job a year later, and called saying he will come by to rectify it. I hope he does, because there is still rot by the door. I've never used him before, and certainly won't again. I can't say if this is an aberration or not. He is courteous and professional, even solicitous, but the work quality is just not satisfactory.

"On February 1, 2012 the rotted stud (not part of original quote) was replaced at no charge. Also, the shed roof was inspected and found to have no reasons for concern. All issues have been resolved. My records indicate this work was completed in December 2009. In December 2010, I received a phone call from the member stating she noticed a rotted stud which was not included in the original estimate. I agreed to return to replace the stud at no extra charge. Unfortunately, we did not return as I had stated. Ironically, I reached out to the member last week when I realized the work had not been completed, just before this posting was made. Regarding the shed, per our contract we repaired the roof which included sistering on new joists and some new plywood sheathing. Given the past two winters, it is entirely possible the weight of the snow & ice has compromised the roof structure. This would not surprise me as I have seen roofs of all sizes and types buckle under this tremendous weight. I will be happy to inspect the integrity of the shed roof when I return to change the stud. I look forward to rectifying this situation."

The first thing I liked overall was that estimate I got was itemized. The bad thing was that the first estimate included some things that I did not want done. I called the owner and we went over the items and got it all straightened out. The work was started and finished on time. The work crew was punctual and courteous. All construction materials were taken away and the area was left clean.

There was a miscommunication on my part about which ice dam specifically was the problem so it was missed. However, they were willing to return and fix what was missed. Also, they gave me a 5% discount due to the miscommunication of expectations. They also returned and fixed a shingle that was accidental pulled up from the shoveling. Overall, good experience. I would recommend them.

"I'm sorry that you thought $475. was high.to send out a crew of men in hazardous conditions. Other companies were charging $1000. for the same job, and we came out when others didn't. As for quality, we came out did the job, when we said we would then you realized you miscommicated to us and we came back to redo the job per your request, and also gave you a 5% discount for the misundstanding. And when you noticed that a shingle had come loose due to shoveling,we came back to fix the problem. With all that said I'm confused with the "C's" on quality and price."

I spent around $20000 on that work. The job went well and we were very pleased. They were prompt in getting the work done and good with communication with us. They were very good at explaining what needed to be done.

When fear of ice dams and collapsing roofs was upon us I received an email from Eastern Construction with a 10% off offer to help with these problems. They came the day after I called, before the next snowstorm added more ice and snow. I was not home but spoke to a worker by telephone. Honestly, I did not know exactly what I wanted done except to alleviate my fear that my house was going to be a disaster. I believe they broke up some ice dams and removed some snow. Looking back, I should have asked them to remove most of the snow from the roof. After the next storm, the roof looked as bad as it did before the work, but I'm hoping the work help avert disaster. I wasn't sure if I needed a repeat visit but it is not cheap.

They were punctual, came every day, worked all day. We discussed different options for insulation and they were open to using a different type of insulation that I wanted.

The workers were great and worked in some rough weather. The roof looked great when finished. There is a small customer satisfaction issue that keeps me from giving them an A across the board. I had a major leak around my skylight during the very next heavy rain. The roofer came out the following day without a ladder so he could not get a good look at the skylight but did point out a problem with my gutters which I fixed the following day. I took a good look at my skylight while I was up there and found the flashing in the back had popped off at some point and fixed it. So most of my leak is fixed. The end caps/flashing on my skylight however went missing. That is my issue. They said they would be back but have not showed up. If you get a new roof I suggest new flashing on everything. Insist on it.

About 5 years ago they did some roofing for us and we were very pleased so we called them for this job. We had some trouble with the finishing work on this job. It seemed like they didn't do any finishing work unless we put it on a list for them. We are not contractors. We have found a leak behind the shower wall and we are still dealing with it. They have been back twice and we are both teachers so it is very hard to schedule them. They didn't fix it either time so every time we take a shower we have to get on our hands and knees and reach through the little access door and put down a rag to soak the water and then take it out when we are done. The grout and caulk also keep cracking. Theoretically we should have them come back again and fix it but we are so fed up, we will probably call somebody else because we want it done correctly. They did come when they said they would. Since our first review, the owner came in response to this review to inspect the work and make things right. We appreciate his response to our concerns. The owner diagnosed the problem and sent the plumber, who fixed the leak and replaced the caulking around the tub. They also fixed some other aspects of the job that were OK but not perfect, such as lining up the shelves in the linen closet with the height of the doors.

I needed them to get the job done by the 15th (or it was going to run into other very important things I had going on, so had them scheduled to start the job 4 days before this (in case they needed to rrepalce the roof boards with plywood). Well (because of another job they had) they showed-up on the 14th. This did cause me a headache as the job ran to the 16th. I was at the home doing other work when they started the job and I kept an eye on their work. When stripping the roof (of both the shingles and the wood boards, a lot of this rubble filled-up the brand-new soffet vent boxes I had built -my home did not have soffets/soffet vents or a ridge vent before I started my renovations). After stripping and dropping the chimney, one of the younger workers on the roof started to plywood the roof and I noticed he was installing the plywood over the top of the soffet vent (as they should), but without cleaning all the rubble out of them! This would mean the roof/attic would not vent propery (the air would not be able to go through these vents and up to the ridge vent (thus negating all my work of installing soffet vents and them installing a roof vent). I brought this to the attention of the younger worker on the roof (who's attitude was like, 'oh, ya'); Either he didn't know the importance of making sure the roof vented properly -which is unacceptable for a roofer- or he didn't care. I brought up my shop-vac and stood there while he vacuumed all the rubble out of the portion of the soffet he just covered (I had to go to work eventually and left the crew my shop-vac in the hopes they would vacuum out the rest as they went along -the older guy who ran the crew from the ground completely understood my concern about the rubble in the soffet vent and assured me the rest would be cleaned-out before they put the plywood over it (I do believe this was done because he was not too happy with the younger guy up on the roof for overlooking this -or getting caught overlooking this). The price was good for the work done (about mid-range in the quotes from other companies I had come by and look at the job -all from Angie's List). The job was completed in two days (so once stared, they moved pretty fast), and from what I watched them do: Installing about half the plywood, some of the the ice/water shield, shingles, etc, and the way it looks completed, it appears to be a solid job (and I've had no leaks to this point). And to their credit, they did comply with my on-job request to drop-in the plastic vents that run between the rafters (and connect the soffets to the ridge vent) on one half of the roof before they put the plywood down (this added about 15-20 min to the overall job -I could get these vents in on the other half of the roof myself from the attic). However, the fact that I had to catch the rubble in the soffets and that they didn't show-up when scheduled (and that I'm still chasing them down for a copy of the final invoice), I will not go with them when it's time to do the other side of the roof...or perhaps I will, if I can take the day of from work and 'supervise' the job

We are very pleased overall with the work done by Eastern Construction. Owner Steve Kalman is a fourth generation craftsman and it shows in the work performed by his crew. We received multiple bids for a body of work that included the kitchen renovation, new floor, new roof and painting the exterior of the house. We decided to hire Eastern Construction for a majority of the work. Hiring a general contractor for multiple jobs simplifies scheduling and minimizes potential finger pointing. I was concerned that we might be sacrificing some quality by using a single provider and not hiring "specialists" for each of the jobs, but the people that Steve uses are in fact specialists in the work they do. This was particularly the case with the craftsman Steve uses for the granite installation. We were impressed with how well the crew cleaned up each day, and made sure that our kitchen was for the most part, functional on some level throughout the renovation. I don't have a great deal of experience in this regard, but as far as kitchen renovations go, this one was relatively painless. I was equally impressed with how responsive they were in addressing any concerns I had with a slightly misaligned tile or a gap in the grout. "you mark the tiles you want replaced and we'll replace them". We have a couple of more finishing touches yet to do, but all in all my wife loves her new kitchen. Eastern Construction was not at all the lowest bid we received, but Steve worked with us on price, and we certainly feel Eastern Construction delivered on quality. Their one week Florida condo incentive was also a nice bonus. After some delays due to the rains of June and July, Eastern Construction is now in the process of installing an entire new roof on our two story extended Cape. I'll get back to you on how that went.

They came the day before the were going to start and talked to me about what they were going to do and answered any questions I Had. The crew arrived everyday between 7am and 7:30am and worked hard all day long. They kept the area clean as they went along and did an excellant job in a timely fashion.

They did a OK job. It was decent quality job. It is functional. They were relatively cheap. They did not arrive on time for the job and there might have been some canceled appointments. The workers that came were decent.

Overall the job was done very professional, the crew was on time and worked diligently all day (except they stopped for lunch). They brought the dumpster to throw away the old roof and debris. They were very clean and cleaned up thoroughly. They explained and went over any questions that we asked while working on the roof. The price was exceptionally affordable and they used the best quality material that is out there!! I highly recommend Easter Construction Co. for all your household needs.

I needed to replace the wrought iron railing on a porch I had redone. I had trouble finding anyone who would do the work of either rebuilding the old railing or installing a new one. Eastern was prompt and professional (the most professional of the group); the owner got back to me with my options; they came out to do estimate exactly when they said they would; and did the job just as they described, cleaning up the work area perfectly. A real good experience. I am glad I found these guys as they do other stuff (e.g. roofs) and they will be first on my list to call next time versus wasting time with a lot of other providers.

Our front hallway had a few boards that were rotten and we'd called up Eastern Construction Co for repairing our roof at the time. It was an easy job and the cost wasn't great. The work was fine, but they didn't do such a great job in my opinion, since they didn't sand and really finish it to match the rest of the flooring.

I called up Eastern Construction Co. We needed general repairs to our roof. A lot of the connections had wear and they replaced them for us. It was a quick job, about two to three days. The final price for repairs wasn't what they estimated, so we weren't absolutely pleased. I think we'd probably hunt for another business when we need our slat roof repaired, a more specialized company.

They were very very nice. They were very professional. If I had any complaint it took them a little bit longer to get to my house because it was in the winter. It was not something they could control. I have a very good experience with them. I would recommend them and use them again in the future.
