Customers say: Quick response

"I hired Rick to fix my gravel driveway, clear land and put in a pad for a 40 x 60 barn. He gave me a very good quote, and over performed during the job. The barn went up without a hitch and the drive is holding up perfectly. Two months after the completion we had flooding and a river flowed down my driveway, and the next day the driveway looked great. I would recommend ricks work and expertise to anyone and everyone. He is very professional and courteous at all times. A great guy and great excavator."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

The longevity of land surveying in Augusta depends on setting markers below the frost line to withstand shifting soils, especially in areas with glacial till or clay. Using high-quality, weather-resistant materials and ensuring proper drainage around markers are crucial. Thorough documentation and adherence to local ordinances also help, as does planning for seasonal accessibility unique to Augusta’s varied terrain and climate.

Helpful?

In Augusta, complications can arise if your home’s foundation is close to property lines or if outbuildings, fences, or sheds aren’t officially recorded. Steep slopes, dense woods, or nearby streams may limit surveyor access. Shared driveways or utility easements can blur boundaries. Older homes built before current zoning rules or with complex ownership histories may also present unique surveying challenges.

Helpful?

For land surveying in Augusta, having original deed descriptions, prior survey plats, and historical property maps is essential. Understanding easements, rights-of-way, and any neighborhood covenants will shape project boundaries. Assessing the property’s topography, proximity to features like the Kennebec River, and local zoning rules ensures accurate planning. Reviewing municipal records and adjacent property histories can also reveal unique site considerations.

Helpful?

Land surveying in Augusta balances function and aesthetics by using durable, low-profile markers that meet legal standards while blending with landscaping. Surveyors often coordinate with homeowners to place markers discreetly in gardens or along tree lines. In historic neighborhoods, marker types may be restricted, so careful planning preserves both accessibility and the distinctive appearance of Augusta’s residential properties throughout the year.

Helpful?

In Augusta, an effective seasonal inspection routine for land surveying starts each spring by checking property markers for frost heave or winter storm displacement. In summer, clear brush and overgrowth to maintain visibility and note any new encroachments. Fall is ideal for securing and photographing markers before freeze-thaw cycles. During winter, monitor for snow or ice damage and review survey records to prepare for the next spring’s inspection.
