"Sobieski did the HVAC/ insulation on my new construction home in 2021. Every summer, there have been condensation issues in the basement bathroom. Multiple technicians have been out and "fixed the issue," but it is still occurring. The last technician quite literally said he watched a YouTube video about exhaust fans while installing a new exhaust fan for us. The company as a whole is incompetent, hard to communicate with, and takes no accountability for their wrongdoings. Roto-Rooter does not charge by the hour, so the quote you get after your in-person consultation should cover the whole project. This includes the time it takes a technician to get to your house and the time it takes to complete the job. For context, a plumber will charge anywhere from $45 to $200 per hour, but you may also pay a service fee or flat fee. 

If you’re not using a septic system, problems with your home’s plumbing won’t cause this—it’s a city problem. A large blockage in the municipal sewage lines may cause those lines to back up into your home. This is extremely unpleasant and can be a serious health risk due to bacteria and other contaminants. If this occurs, call a pro (or your city) immediately.

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

Your sewer pro will take about an hour to complete your sewer line camera inspection. However, if your home does not have cleanout access and the pro needs to remove the toilet to access the sewer line, the time to completion will take longer. Note that this estimated time does not include the time for repair, drain cleaning, or any other services you may need.
