"The completed job and end results were fantastic! The springs had loosened or never connected properly, the wood was separating and the cushions were beyond their prime. Chesapeake Upholstery kept us informed with photos to see for ourselves every step of the way. The end result was excellent! We are not sure we could've bought higher quality furniture to replace these sofas. And the turn-around was surprisingly fast. We are pleased with all aspects of doing business with CU and will happily do so again if needed."

Not always—heavily worn or broken furniture often isn’t worth repairing or refinishing (if it’s even possible). Vinegar won’t strip the wood stain from your wood, but it can help remove a different type of stain. If you’re dealing with food stains or trying to remove water rings on your wood, you can use a little olive oil and vinegar (mixed equally) to remove those stains without stripping your actual wood stain. Just rub the solution in the direction of the wood grain, let it sit, and then wipe it away with a damp towel.

Stay away from using window cleaners and other harsh cleaning solutions on antique wood—or any wood in your home for that matter. The pH of the cleaners can break down the finish and permanently damage and stain the wood below. Even when it comes to more durable areas, such as when cleaning your baseboards, only use cleaning solutions that are safe for porous materials.
