"Working with Ace Mobile Welding was honestly shocking in the best way possible. They actually answered the phone, showed up when they said they would, and finished the job without disappearing for three business weeks. In construction terms, that’s basically a miracle. The quality of work was top tier. Everything was clean, solid, and done right the first time. You can tell these guys actually care about their craftsmanship instead of just hitting everything with spray paint and saying “she’ll hold.” The crew stayed professional, communicated clearly, and kept the work area organized the entire time. No chaos, no guessing games, and no one standing around pretending to look busy while holding a tape measure. Good people, honest work, and the kind of company you call again instead of warning your friends about. Definitely recommend Ace Mobile Welding to anyone who wants the job done right without the usual contractor headache."

"General Remodeling refurbished our entire SFH in Chevy Chase, including over 20 new windows, an addition, a basement and landscaping. I have worked with contractors before and I can state with some confidence that their standard of work is first-class. Despite the difficulties of a young family living through a major remodeling, they were a pleasure to have around. Vidas, the project manager, is attentive to detail, always available to solve problems, and knowledgeable about his profession. Our project has been in very safe hands. Highly recommended."

"5 Star Welding employee was very friendly and understanding of my request to install a handicap rail on both sides of the steps. The rail design looked better than I expected. Professional job! My 2-year-old grandson was able to pull himself up the steps with the handle provided on the first level. We were all so impressed with his workmanship."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Professional metal fabricators typically charge around $70 per hour, but the total cost of your project will depend on several factors. The largest cost drivers are the size, complexity, and design of the project, as well as the price and type of metal used. A good way to estimate the total cost is to multiply the cost of raw materials by four; typically, one-quarter of the total goes toward materials and three-quarters toward labor. Your geographic location can also influence costs, as labor and material prices vary by region.

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

The best thing to cut metal pipe is a durable pipe cutter that is made for metal. You may want to measure the diameter of the pipes before purchasing a pipe cutter to ensure it will be able to cut your metal pipes. Opt for a heavy-duty option to cut through metal like steel or cast iron.

Yes, you can cut plexiglass by hand using a sharp knife or blade (utility knife, box cutter, glass cutter, etc.).
