"While ABV was able to eventually repair my GE Profile counter depth refrigerator, it took a long time with a lot of trial and error, and was extremely expensive. It seems like the tech didn't know what he was doing, and diagnosed repairs that didn't need to be made. First, the tech diagnosed the problem as a bad control panel, which cost $2,400 to replace. That didn't fix the problem. Next, the tech guessed that the problem was the compressor control board and replaced that. To ABV's credit, they didn't charge me for the control board when that didn't turn out to be the problem. Finally, they decided that the compressor needed to be replaced, which cost $1800. That fixed the issue. Three simultaneous systems failures is highly improbable, and I strongly suspect that if the compressor had been replaced first, I would have avoided spending an additional $2400. I should have gone with GE's repair service first, but no availability for 2 weeks. ABV took 3.5 weeks to finally repair."

I mentioned at the start of the visit that there was a small gap in the gasket seal but was told this was not the issue and further diagnostics were needed. No issues were found, however, rather than being charged only the standard diagnostic fee we were told the charge was $300 for defrosting the freezer to perform the diagnostics. This charge was not disclosed beforehand. The issue continued. Technician returned and NOW claimed problem was due to the gasket seal. Part was incorrect size and had to be reordered. Did not hear back after about a week. Contacted, and was informed technician was not able to get the part but would install if we could find. We purchased directly from the company. installed at no additional charge and problem resolved, however, would not use again nor recommend this company. "
