"Anthony and Mark showed up a tad late (1 hour) but it was not a big deal to me. After agreeing on the price they went right to work. My carpet at the entrance had some serious dirt. After just over two hours the carpet and furniture looked absolutely fabulous. Anthony and Mark were both very friendly and professional. "I previously had purchased wall-to-wall from the Floor Covering Center for the main level floor and three flights of stairs/landings in my home. Ahmad, in the Rockville store, had helped me with that purchase approximately 10 years ago.  I was so pleased that I then recommended Ahmad/Floor Covering Center to a close friend who also purchased carpeting and ceramic tile flooring with Ahmad's help.  Ten years later, the wall-to-wall still looked nearly new, but the bedroom level carpeting, the original carpeting installed in 1983, showed every minute of its 30 years.  Also, there was a bleach incident on the stairs near the bedroom level which needed repair.  With a remnant piece of the carpeting bought in 2003, I went to the Floor Covering Center.  There was Ahmad, who gave me the bad news that the carpet I bought previously was no longer manufactured, and the good news that Mohawk was making a better carpet that was very similar in appearance.  I found a color that matched pretty closely, and ordered carpeting for the upstairs master bedroom.  The price was very reasonable.  I then decided to add to the order and have Ahmad measure the main floor area to replace the sheet vinyl in the kitchen and the 10 yo carpet in the dining room with hardwood.  I asked Ahmad if he could re-use the dining room carpet in the smallest bedroom and closet.  He agreed and also suggested and pointed out items to consider, recommending that the baseboards be replaced.  The price was within my budget so the flooring was ordered.  A few days later I called Ahmad and asked him how much would it cost to change the order if the entire main floor was redone with hardwood and new baseboards.  He re-calculated the cost and then added in new carpet for the second bedroom into the whole deal.  This additional change increased the overall price by only a third, but it effectively provided new flooring for two levels of my home, instead of four rooms, now six rooms, hall and some steps would be redone. 
The workmen came on time.  A carpet crew and a wood floor crew worked simultaneously and quickly, beginning around 9 a.m.  The carpet crew was done by 2 p.m. or so.  Before cutting the living room carpet, they asked how much I wanted to keep, if any.  They cut so as to provide enough carpeting to bind off into area rugs.  The wood flooring crew cut all pieces on site and were finished-- including baseboards, before 5 p.m.  Both crews were respectful in my home, used the designated bathroom, kept me informed of progress and asked me questions to make sure I was satisfied.  Each crew cleaned up and vacuumed after themselves inside and outside (where they ended up setting up a cutting area-- in 90+ degree heat).  They also returned the few pieces of furniture that were moved back to where I asked them to be replaced.
I would use The Floor Covering Center again and would recommend them to any friends looking to spruce up their flooring.

"George's painting, inc was responsive and professional from start to finish. The project entailed wallpaper removal from 2.5 bathrooms and kitchen, repainting those rooms; installing a tile backsplash and vinyl tile floor in the kitchen; replacing the kitchen countertop; repairing a cabinet; repairing drywall and painting the ceiling in the master bedroom. The owner came out to do the estimate himself. He was accommodating when I wanted to expand the scope of the initial project and came out a second time to give me an updated estimate. He was easy to reach via cell or email. The estimate was more than fair. His crew completed the job in three days. The crew was polite, professional, and did a good job cleaning up at the end of each work day. I highly recommend this company and would use them again."

"When you purchase this service you are asked to send pictures of the room,  and a layout drawing  with the dimensions in inches.  I sent pictures from every angle in the room.  My layout drawing was rough, but I made sure that the dimensions were correct.  It is important to show doors, and width from door to wall, windows and spaces between window and wall, etc.

Explain how you invision the room and what you would like to keep in the room. You should let her know what you like and dislike as far as fabrics, colors, and style of furniture.  I hate paisley, but failed to include this in the information that I sent to the designer.  So there was some paisley in my concept board. I told her what I liked, but failed to tell her what I disliked and would not want to see in the room.

Once I sent pictures, dimensions, and room layout I received 2  suggested layouts for the room from Jill.  I selected the layout that I preferred.  You they receive a concept board for the room with  her suggested furnishings and fabrics. To my surprise she also gives alternatives to what she suggests.  Her suggestions are in various price ranges so that you can choose within your budget.

"We bought a big deal from Angie's List and returned it after Garry explained that he had not authorized the big deal but since we had bought the deal, Garry agreed to honor the price for the bathroom remodel. His team showed up to start work a few weeks (or maybe months, I can't recall) later and the whole bath remodel took 3 or 4 weeks.
The good stuff:
-The area around the bathtub was tiled and the quality of that work was excellent. 
-Another bonus was when Garry realized that our toilet had an unusual rough-in size and he called all around town and found a company that had a toilet that would meet our needs in stock. This saved us from the time and expense of having a toilet special ordered.
-Lastly, and I think this one is huge, about 14 months after our remodel, our downstairs neighbors called to complain of a leak that seemed to be coming from our toilet. I asked our building maintenance guy about it and he suggested that when we added the additional flooring in the bathroom perhaps we didn't have enough wax rings under the toilet to seal the connection. I called Garry to see if his team could come out and fix it and he came out himself to do the repair a few days later at no charge. I really appreciate that he stood behind the work his team did.
The not so good stuff:
-We had planned to have a new bathtub installed and therefore the bathtub was used as a storage space during the remodel and it got pretty beat up. When it came time to remove the old tub the team realized that the plumbing was not easily accessible (we live in a condo) so instead they would refinish our current tub. Since the tub had gotten pretty beat up during the remodel the final result wasn't as nice as it could have been. Also, the refinish has started to chip so it's not as durable as a new tub would have been.
-Another down side was that there were some spots on the wall that were missed when it came time to paint. They had been puttied but the fellow forgot to sand and repaint them. Since they were partially covered by cabinets we didn't realize this right away.
-The floor tiles seem to not quite hit the wall in a few spots so there are gaps between the baseboard and the floor.
Overall the bathroom looks new and clean so I'm happy.
