They were honest and transparent in keeping me informed. They even did extra work in areas I did not pay for. While working on my project I had a personal crisis and Luis and his Family came over with a dozen of beautiful white roses and showed me love and compassion. I will never forget that!!! I know have the best house in the neighborhood. My neighbors tell me that all the time. My new front porch and back deck are my pride and joy; my slice of paradise here on earth. "I hired JES to install a trench and sump system into the basement of a new house I purchased. After the job was completed, I noticed the cellar stairwell was pooling water. They returned and said that they didn't think that the drain was run direct to the sump as it should have been but they needed to open the concrete to verify. I also asked why there was no water in the sumps. They ran tests with water for 2 hours and didn't see water and tried to explain to me that it was expected since the water was running out around the drainage under the foundation. They even had a supervisor try to explain to me over the phone when I questioned it. It took them several weeks to return to fix the cellar drain and sure enough, the pipe was just run to under the foundation and not directed into the trench/sump. A repair team came out and busted up the concrete to correct it. In doing so, they saw that their trench was also not connected to the sumps at all, which is why I never saw water in the sumps and not the mysterious theory they tried to convince me of weeks prior. This is terrible that there is no inspection of work prior to covering it totally with concrete. Or further, there was no physical test of running water in the system to verify the sump works. The repair team that came out were wonderful and did everything correct. After this, I called 3 times and asked for a manager to call me to discuss this and never received a response. The salesman stopped answering my calls. As a note, after spending $30K on this upgrade to my house, it was in worse risk than prior to JES so if you choose them, be careful."

"Brian and his crew were meticulous and the driveway looks great. My only comment is that at one point there was a slight lack of communication. But that did improve a lot at the end of the project. The cost always seems high no matter what you have done. It was slightly over the estimates given on the website, but not too far out of line."

"Avoid Guardian Basement – False Promises and Poor Customer Service Two years ago, I hired Guardian Basement to fix a water issue on the front wall of my basement. Joel came out, sold me on their system, and guaranteed I would have a dry basement. We also replaced two sump pumps and had the sump well dug deeper. The main selling point was their lifetime guarantee. Fast forward two years, and I have the exact same problem. Every time there is significant rain, water rushes through the same wall. I reached out to Guardian Basement, and Joel scheduled a time to check it out. His tone was completely different this time—defensive and dismissive. Within five minutes, he claimed, “Your system is clogged.” He made this assessment without any real inspection—just by looking at the cement floor and wall. Now, here’s the catch: If you look closely at their so-called lifetime warranty, clogs are not covered. So despite spending thousands of dollars, I’m back to square one. To make matters worse, Joel was incredibly condescending and unpleasant to deal with. After this experience, I looked into their licensing with the state of Maryland and found multiple complaints against them. I am now in the process of submitting my own complaint as well. I would never recommend Guardian Basement to anyone. Save your money and go with a company that truly knows what they are doing and stands behind their work. If I could give them a negative number of stars I would."
