"He just fixed it!! A very nice man. Came, looked at central vacuum determined the problem and fixed it. No sales pitch no telling me how old the machine was and that it would soon need to be replaced. He also checked all filters and said was. Good"

"C.M.W. provided expert installation of our central vacuum system. Their pricing and value were competitive. The technician, William, who installed our system informed us of all work prior to beginning and left all areas clean upon finishing. We are more than pleased with their service and recommend C.M.W. products and services."

"Bruce and his team did great work. They built a new deck for me last summer which I have thoroughly enjoyed. They also painted a couple of rooms. On time, fast, hard workers. I will definitely use Hunny Do again. I've already recommended them to others."

"Mr Juan has worked on my home on multiple occasions. 1) Twice my neighbors tree hit my roof. The first time, in the front of home, the first and second floor of the roof needed new shingles, protection from the rain and the part of the ceiling in the garage had fell to the garage floor. It was scary mess. Juan came to my rescue and repaired my damaged roof, the garage ceiling and cleaned up as though the incident never happened. The second incident. I called Juan and he was very responsive again. A tall from the Forest preservation fell and 1 branch punctured my roof and came through the ceiling of my master bedroom closet. The branches tore off the rear siding of my home and punctured holes in two screened windows. Juan replaced my sidings, the ceiling of my master closet and ensured the roof was replaced and protected from any moisture. I never had a problem since. Third. When my neighbor's hit the side of my home. Juan came to my rescue and protected my roof, replaced the shingles and the siding. He even looked at my plumbing. Again I will always contact Juan Improvement Services. He is an excellent home improvement contractor who goes well beyond that of a home Contractor and communicates with you any issues and what must be done. Based on my experiences. I would always recommend Juan Improvement Services for your home....always."

"Excellent. Professionally done at a good price. Spelled out exactly how they would fix it, provided a reasonably priced estimate, and did work as they said they would. NO BS or come on. I went through several contractors/estimates, all of which tried to sell me what I did not need at a much higher price. Handyman in DMV was on the money with what needed down and with the work. Will hire them again."

"I have used John several times and at all times he has been beyond amazing. John is patient, understanding, and takes his time to explain details of everything being done. He always asks questions to make sure the work he does is what the client wants. John is overall an extremely skilled man and has done different types of works with me from painting, cabinet installation, and even putting together/setting up furniture. John is beyond amazing and is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when it comes to Home Improvement."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

If your central vacuum has lost suction, you probably have a clog in the system. You can remove a clog yourself using a portable vacuum cleaner or central vacuum maintenance sheets. Stubborn clogs or damage to the system require a specialized technician to repair.

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.

Regular cleaning, sealing, and inspections help identify problems early and maintain aesthetics.

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.
