Energy Select is a full-service energy consultant and contractor. Our main focus is solar panel installation. We specialize in looking at the whole picture to provide the best energy solution with a balanced effort of energy conservation and clean energy production. We will look into each customer's needs and situation in order to evaluate the best solution, even if it is not going solar! Unfortunately, we do NOT provide solar panel repair.

"Recently purchased a solar energy system for the house (75% offset). From start to finish, the entire process was enjoyable with all the staff from Energy Select; Karen, who gave me a myriad of options and answered all my questions to help me make a well-researched investment that I know will pay off in years to come. Zach helped with the engineering and provided options for install locations with minimal impact on the home or its appearance. Will who assisted with the post-install inspections and permitting process was available and worked around our schedules to make sure we got the certification to operate, as well as explained the process and expectations. The install crew was very professional and gave an explanation of what they would be doing and placed the supplies in a way to not impact our day-to-day. Tamika with operations was helpful with updates on the multiple stages of the project as well as any questions I had during the process. Again, the entire staff at this company was phenomenal with the professionalism and experience they provided during the process. The system has only been on a few days, it's exciting to see how well it works even with the cloudy weather. If you are looking for a company to go on the solar journey, look no further than Energy Select, cannot recommend them enough."

There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture. 

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

In most cases, general electricians and lamp repair specialists can repair lamps, although it’s usually best to hire a lamp repair specialist. Many electricians won’t offer lamp repair services, as the jobs are usually small, and some lamps require dedicated lamp repair expertise that electricians may not have. A dedicated lamp repair technician is also a better option because they will be familiar with different types of fixtures, including antique lamps, and can provide a more dedicated service.

Before investing in motion sensor lights, there are a couple of disadvantages worth noting. For starters, they’re not as reliable as other forms of lighting. Motion sensor lights can be accidentally triggered by pets or wind, which can become a nuisance after a while. The opposite situation can occur, too, where they don’t turn on when you need them to. 

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.
