"We have a finished basement and a crawl space in the storage area of our basement.  We have found after large rain storms recently water has been increasing in our crawl space. After one storm we found over 6 inches of water above the gravel in the crawl space and purchased a temporary pump to pump out the water, discarded the plastic vapor barrier with concern of mold growing on it and began to see seepage through the foundation wall to the basement. 
In order to find a solution we scheduled four appointments with Angie's list highly regarded basement waterproofing contractors.  We were surprised to find that each contractor provided different solutions ranging in cost from $13,814 to $1,950.  We were impressed with Mr. Norfolk's honesty and straight forward approach.  He noted that he could do some of the solutions provided by other contractors with piping systems to a sump pump but suggested to start with a more cost effective solution of just adding a sump pump to the crawl area and replacing the current basement sump pump that was 27 years old.  If additional solutions were needed in the future he could preform them but why spend the extra money at this time if not necessary. The work was performed on February 1st and took two workman 3.5 hours to complete.  The workman explained how the system worked and asked that we please follow up if we had any questions.  The only area I could see improvement was clean up as after they cleaned up I had to again sweep the work area and vacum the carpets covered by their drop cloths. There was also debris and concrete mix left on the driveway.

"They came out today to provide an estimate on fixing a frozen pipe. They ran a snake through the pipe to see if anything was in the pipe causing the clog.  They also checked our crawl space to see if they could access the pipe from that area, but unfortunately are not able to.  They're going to have to remove the siding from the house, clear out the pipe, re-insulate it and replace the siding. Their estimate of $1,200 seems like a fair price.  I especially liked the fact that they took off their shoes before entering the house.  Everyone was very professional, prompt and courteous.  I did pay them today for the snake service and inspection."

I called the Friday before to find out when they could come, and they agreed to send their workers on Monday. They team arrived on time. They were pleasant and professional I walked them through what I wanted them to do. It was a complicated job; there were three ponds, and each pond required different care. The team went to work right away. They spent most of the day on the effort, breaking only for lunch. When they were done, I inspected the ponds. The only thing I had to ask them to do was put a net over the waterfall on one of the ponds. The fish they handled were in good condition after the cleaning. The workers left no debris on the job site. The company sent the bill in a timely manner, listing labor and materials so I would understand the charges. I would happily use them again!"

"The owner and workers arrived on time and cleared front and back areas within one day. The next day they laid the sod in the back and front yards. The third day the sod was completely laid and we were told to water for the first 10 days, which we did and we had a lot of rain to allow the sod to connect with soil. The back yard looks great, however, the front yard has a lot of spots where the sod must not have been good. The amount of rain since the project was completed the last of April and up to now, the sod in the front yard should look like the back. The sod was not good.
