"From start to finish, Eugene and his crew were excellent to work with. Our free estimate was much more concise than the "ballpark estimate" thrown out by other companies. While you should always budget for surprises during construction, our estimate was itemized in detail, and showed what upgrades were available and their pricing. The total price was the best of all of our estimates. They worked efficiently, were always friendly, and cleaned up each night before they left. Eugene stopped by frequently to ensure everything was on track and accommodated my suggestions for minor tweaks throughout the process. I very much recommend them and will use them for future remodeling."

"This company went above and beyond for my wife and me. We wanted a balcony with steps but we had an HOA to go through. Shaun talked to my HOA several times and even visited the HOA property management company to drop off and speak to them about my build. His two workers showed up each day even on the weekend to get the job finished in a timely manner. The 2 man crew did a phenomenal job with keeping my lawn as nice as they could and even replaced the dirt and bricks they had to dig up for the posts. This was the best experience we have had in a long time with contractors and I thank Shaun and Maryland Remodeling &Design/Build for restoring my faith in contractors."

"Extremely disappointed with this company. They do not stand by their guarantees. Did install shower in one day. Was not provided with the shower head I ordered. Calking and trim work was very sloppy. Went through the shower wall into my bedroom, did sparkle wall and left it. Shower doors have leaked and was finally told six months later that there is nothing they can do to correct the issue. Originally quoted $24,000.00 for the walk on shower, eventually agreed to $11,500.00. Completely dissatisfied with my shower. Once they get their payment, they are done."

"DMV were the contractors for a series of renovation projects in my home -- renovate a powder room, complete renovation of the kitchen, renovate a closet space, install a skylight, repaint several rooms and the staircase, and refinish the floors upstairs. Javier and the crew were outstanding: very communicative throughout the project, attentive to my concerns and the integrity of the house, and very accommodating with my neighbors. Javier offered many helpful suggestions for tiling, fixtures, and colors. I'm thrilled with the results -- the quality and precision of the work is excellent, and the skylight has transformed my home and my life. Perhaps the most amazing aspect of the project is that I could not be on site as I was posted overseas during the work. "We write this review as a sigh of relief now that our renovation project with River View is finally complete. The quality of the final work is excellent, and the construction crew, architect, and county inspector were all great to work with. The original crew we worked with, led by Edwin, were so hardworking, friendly, thorough, and fast. That's what really pushed us from 2 to 3 stars. However, the process getting here was frustrating and unnecessarily chaotic. Timeline & Communication Issues: Initial promise: We were clear that the renovation had to allow us to live in our home during construction and be completed before Christmas. Early communication: Our original project manager, Cris, was personable, and early communication seemed fine, if a bit informal and sometimes inappropriately personal. Major miscommunication: Near the holidays, we discovered that the plans submitted included cutting into the roof — something we explicitly said we didn’t want. This contradicted verbal assurances and caused major last-minute changes. Project Management Failures: Poor planning and oversight: Cris and the architect’s plan didn’t align with the construction work. We had to get involved directly with the county to fix errors. Paperwork errors: Incorrect submissions to the county added delays and confusion, which we had to monitor ourselves. Last-minute scramble: We were cleaning up dust on Christmas Eve due to these planning failures. Personnel Turnover & Lack of Handoff: Cris leaves the company: No proper handover to James, the new PM, who was unfamiliar with our project. Crew replaced: The original crew, who were great, were gone; new crew had no context or direction. James leaves: Another handoff with no context — the third PM had no idea about our project or its outstanding items. Escalation mishandled: When we raised our concerns with Kyle, the CEO, the response felt dismissive, with no accountability for the previous missteps. In summary, it's a beautiful end result... but we’re glad it’s over. The process left us frustrated, confused, and frankly, exhausted."

"All work was completed in a professional manner from initial planning through all phases of construction. The job site was maintained as expected. AES worked with us on a few small changes we requested along the way as well. I felt very comfortable with all the craftsperson’s at work in our home. There was great communication with AES throughout the job. I would use their services in the future."

"Thomas M was an excellent technician and did great work fixing all the basement windows around the house. These windows are difficult to find a replacement but he was able to repair and repaint them. The other technician was Pablo He worked on caulking all the windows around the house and he did some filling work on the garage sliding doors You did a good job, but Pablo left his trash around and didn’t pick up after himself so Thomas M and I did that on the third day. It took three days total, but it was two men for two days and one man for a 3/4 of a day actually. Although I’ll probably get charged for a full day, since it went past noon. The labor portion is the most expensive and a little higher than I initially anticipated. So, I was hoping for a quicker turnaround, but overall quality work was completed. I would highly recommend Thomas M as a technician to do future work. He’s very knowledgeable, friendly and does a great job. I would hire again but include more details in the contract language."
